What Makes Mildly Interesting RTS Stand Out

Mildly Interesting RTS (MIRTS) is a touch-based real time strategy game that is mildly interesting. Emphasizes planning over APM.

  • Built with love by an indie game developer.
  • No loot boxes.
  • No ads. Ever.
  • No energy bars, coins, or other scummy nickel-and-dime IAP.
  • No crippled gameplay.
  • One, single, solitary IAP that unlocks all of the Veteran Content (forever and ever).

What people are saying about MIRTS:

"This doesn't mean he can't do smarter and bigger things, just that a port of A Dark Room is not that, and neither were his other descriptions of projects he did in the meantime (for example, look at the screenshots for Mildly Interesting RTS)." – Jonathan Blow, creator of Braid and The Witness

"This RTS is indeed, mildly interesting." – A random person

"I was able to play my friend over wifi, during lunch, one-handed. My other hand was holding a delicious sammich." – RTS enthusiast

"My significant other beat me. How is this possible?" – Former diamond league Starcraft player

"This old guy played against me and he won, but my APM was so high. How did he do that?" – Angsty teen who is inexperienced at RTS's

"I don't get this game. What is an APM?" – Someone who doesn't play RTS's and probably shouldn't have downloaded MIRTS

"The description of this game is probably better than the game itself. But I'll download it anyways." – Pessimistic viewer

"Meh." – Hobby game developer

"Wait, are you just quoting anyone that reaches out to you?" – Photographer

"I love bamboo." – A panda bear

This Simulation game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

The AI is a good difficulty (although not adjustable). We love how the game isnt fluffed up with distractions, the gameplay speaks for itself. Thanks.

Your honestly wasting your time if you haven't downloaded it already. The game has a hint of subnuatica except you dont have pay premiums or clear your week for it. Theres no nonsense, just an interesting game with innovative mechanics. If you have any interest in real time strategy at all: get this game.

But sometimes we drop the Nuke on our own army. Is it possible to cancel that and the other actions.

This game is fantastic, just like all his previous games. If you are a fan of rts games, then this is a must download. We have one question though, what does the supply limit customization do.

We have played all of your games… We remember playing A Dark Room years ago and being instantly enthralled. We remember the frustration of the Ensign, mocking our every failure. The beauty of A Noble Circle and its story. Now we are amazed again by such a simple, yet amazing game. Stop whatever you are doing right now and purchase these games. These are the types of games that are actually worth the purchase. None of that micro-transaction/pay-to-win crap. Just amazing stories told by an Amazon indie developer. Support this guy. Mostly because we want him to make more games.

This is an amazing rts. We are not good at them (getting better) but the AI is hard and thinks faster than you. This is a good thing, just a little challenging. We would like the option to step down the difficulty. This is the game when we're like, we have 30 seconds to kill. Let us try and beat the- nope, AI won. Then we put it down for a few days but we keep coming back.

We absolutely loves playing this mildly interesting RTS… The gameplay is simple, yet the AI is intelligent. There are no adds and the full function of the game, the way it is designed is accessible when you begin the first map! Thank you for this.

Simple, fun, and more than mildly entertaining. Only wish we could look away long enough to find the pause button. Instead our wife is laughing at us as she sends us on errands in the house and we go slow because we don't want to look away.

Love the simplicity of this game.

This game may look simple but it is quite the opposite it is a bare bones RTS game with no extra looks it's easy to understand but hard to conquer we recommend it to anyone who want to try the RTS genre and doesn't want to fork over any cash and once you're in the game you will realize that you aren't restricted from any content whatsoever if you don't pay a dime no micro transactions which is one of our favorite things about indie Deb's that care. But to wrap this up we highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get into the RTS genre.

Love your other games, and as expected this one has a lot of potential. Did notice a glitch where on local player, both players' troopers became invisible, and bases would randomly switch from blue to red. However, the rest of the game seems fine so far, and it is, as promised, mildly interesting.

A very awesome game that has a good amount of lure and everything is free.

We don't usually write reviews, but Amir's games are always worth it. No ads, no tricks to get you to spend money, just an honest game. Am honestly addictive and amazing game. Trust us, you'll be hooked :D.

We've tried all of his games and this one is probably our second favorite! So simple but very fun.

The small amount of units and the special actions ensure that the game is never truly won nor lost until the last area is captured. AI is no genius but acts quickly and not idiotically and therefore poses a challenge.

Amir is am amazing game creator and we love everything he's put out. This one is no exception and you should totally get it and try it. His other games are amazing too so definitely check them out. Two suggestion we would love to see is some way of tracking how well you've done on each level, like if you beat it and on what speed / supply / time. Something like that. The other one would be if we click away from a circle/base, the arrows should disappear and not stay on the base.

It's lots of fun, challenging, and best of all, free! It's amazing to find a free game that isn't peppered with ads and micro purchases.

Really nice simple mobile RTS can't wait for further development.

This artist has once again proven that they can create amazing games without littering the game with adds and micro transactions. Thank you so much for what you do.

This game is so simple yet intricate. Our friend and we love going head to head. Keep it up.

Fun gameplay, challenging and entertaining. No ads which is almost unheard of with games now! We've never played anything like this and we love it.

This game was great when we first downloaded it and it keeps getting better with time.

This game is so fun and we love the obvious passion and love the creator has for his work.

We've only played this game a little and we're already enjoying it more then any other game similar to it on the App Store, mostly because you can tell it was made by someone who wanted to make it to be played, not to earn money. The game is fun, it works, it's simple, and enjoyable. Download it.

Always expect and receive the best mobile has to offer with this dev.

Fun, engaging, and intense. Awesome as always.

Great duel game…not really sure how we win…not even really sure how we lose. It's fun though. We'll start working on getting more people playing. Any other statistics besides victory or defeat possible? Most effective nukes.

Rarely do you find apps that are: 1. Not out for your wallet 2. Beautifully crafted 3. Made and played our a creator who knows what he is doing 4. Made by someone who has other amazing apps. This app is simple yet demands your full attention and strategic mind. Totally fun and hard to put down. Almost pathetic how addicting it is. On the other apps YOU MUST KNOW. We are a huge fan of ADR (A Dark Room) and the Ensign. We have beaten both many times and finally did ADR in under 100 minutes! We just found this game and Noble Circle and after finishing this game along with ADR and TE… We have absolutely zero doubt that noble circle with have us infatuated from the start. Once we get money onto our apple account, we will download A Noble Circle IMMEDIATELY. Please do yourself a favor and down ADR. Its the best game app on the app store.

Great game, however HG is not hard enough and we believe with the right strategy it can be defeated without backing down. Also the AI does not scatter troops before the nuke becomes available, major flaw which gave us a few wins.

This is definitely one of our favorite games on our iPad. It is pure strategy, fast-paced, and as much fun as command & conquer, red alert, age of empires, etc. Although, rather simplistic, it is quite fun and is made by an independent developer who is in trying to farm us for cash. Check it out! One shortcoming: It's not clear how to restore purchased content on our devices.

Great job, again. The game still keeps your humor while being the best rts we have played on mobile. Thanks for another great game.

This is an addictive little RTS. Simple, fun, a little frustrating. A good ten minute time killer.

Love the simple complexity or complex simplicity of the game, but multiplayer glitches on both our phones. Any way to get support-? Plug: go get his one of a kind other games, A Dark Room and The Ensign.

Galcon, and many other similar games, implemented this same concept better.

Plays perfectly on mobile, difficult but not too difficult. Can't wait to get the upgrade thingy when we've got a few $$.

This is an awesome game from an awesome developer. Really simple but more complex than you would think. Requires a lot of forward planning. Super fun.

We have no idea what we're doing but we're so angry we're vibrating, which must mean this game is awesome. Finally beat our first battle and we're euphoric. This developer comes out with the best, most engaging games, and they are usually just text or dots. Genius.

Was a fun little game that can present a challenge that keeps you occupied for a hour or two.

Nice game. Similar to Auralux, but doesn't have online multiplayer yet, supporting only local play. So go talk to your real life friends! APM means actions-per-minute.

We have downloaded (and loved) every one of the apps you've made, and you have opened our eyes to how games are being made these days. We hope more people find you and your games because we have loved each and every one of them.

At the start of the is hard but now is very fun.

We love it! We experienced a bug playing a friend on one level, but other than that it's been flawless.

We are fairly new to the RTS genre as it just never appealed to us, but having admired your previous work, we gave this a shot. Gotta say we've really been having a blast with this game! We've enjoyed learning the mechanics and appreciate its approachable and elegant simplicity. We were actually happy to see an IAP with the recent update, and jumped at the chance to continue to support the your efforts. Anyway, since initial release, several new welcome gameplay elements and abilities have been added and brought further depth, but we think it would be beneficial to be able to customize these options slightly. One thing we miss from a the earlier version is the ability to adjust the number of units the game starts each team with (1-25). It was a nice little pre-game tweak that added some variety and made the game more fun in the process. Not sure why that option was removed but we'd like to see it added back in. Otherwise great game so far, looking forward to future updates.

We can see you really like to develop this game. The constant updates and stories about your time playing other RTS. But we couldn't play this game at all. Our blue units would block the circle we were tapping on and it wouldn't let us select them. We've had this game since the first versions and no update has fixed it since then. But we can tell the game is amazing, and we'd hope you get to fix this game soon. (The problem is that our units would block the circle we would try to tap).

OK, whatever you did to the AI made it impossible to play. Even the early levels are simply unbeatable. Difficulty should start low, then slowly ramp up.

Worth your time and probably cash too.

Hey, we're loving the game so far! It's surprisingly engaging for how minimalistic it looks, and challenging enough to keep us coming back for more. No intrusive ads or anything else is just a bonus. Love your productions man, keep it up:).

We love this game! It has absolutely no ads and has very simple yet challenging gameplay. One problem though… We have an iPod 5 and we want to purchase the veteran levels but whenever we hit the buy button the app crashes. Please fix this.

We love what this game is doing right now. Simple enough to learn in 5 minuted, and complex enough to make us think when we play some maps. We're excited to see where this goes in the future.

Very simple and fun. Also, the games can get extremely competitive with friends.
