It’s rated 9+ and currently has 476+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Never Alone: Ki Edition Stand Out
A worldwide App Store Editors’ Choice. “Stunningly poignant – and quite brilliant. 10/10.” – Eurogamer
“Ki” is the Iñupiaq word for “Let’s Go!”, and now you can play the award-winning indie hit on the go with Never Alone: Ki Edition.
Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) is an atmospheric puzzle platformer developed in collaboration with the Iñupiat, an Alaska Native people, drawn from a traditional story that has been shared across the generations. Experience the epic journey of Nuna and Fox as they search for the source of an eternal blizzard that threatens the survival of everything they have ever known.
Guide both characters as you trek through frozen tundra, leap across treacherous ice floes, swim through underwater caverns and face enemies both strange and familiar.
On over 75 "Best of 2014" lists and winner of "Best Debut Game" at the 2015 BAFTA Games Awards as well as "Game of the Year" and "Most Significant Impact" at the 2015 Games for Change Awards, nearly 40 Alaska Native elders, storytellers and community members contributed to the making of Never Alone.
You'll explore awe-inspiring environments, perform heroic deeds and meet legendary characters from Iñupiaq stories — all narrated by a master storyteller in the spoken Iñupiaq language.
Features
Reimagined for mobile — Never Alone: Ki Edition includes every level and all the excitement of the original game enjoyed by millions of PC and console players around the world. We’ve updated the game for mobile devices, adding brand-new touch controls, menus and hints along with optimized graphics and AI that bring the beauty of Never Alone’s ethereal, arctic environments to phones and tablets.
Play as both Nuna and Fox — switch between the two companions at any time as you rely on the unique skills of each character to succeed in your quest. Nuna can climb ladders and ropes, move heavy obstacles, and throw her bola at targets to solve puzzles. Fox can fit through small areas that Nuna can't reach, scramble up walls, and jump to great heights.
Explore the harsh world of the Arctic — run under, through, and atop the unstable structures of an abandoned coastal village. Explore the eerily quiet treetops of a mysterious, frozen forest. Brave the fierce winds of the eternal blizzard. Only with the aid of Helping Spirits will Nuna and Fox have any chance of survival in a land where survival seems impossible.
Unlock fascinating video insights — Elders, storytellers, and other members of the Alaska Native community share stories and wisdom about their culture, values and the amazing Arctic world encountered by players in over 30 minutes of interviews.
Customizable controls — Adjust the sensitivity or select an alternate layout for the game’s onscreen controls. For those who prefer a physical controller, the game also supports MFi devices.
Support for 17 languages — Chinese (Simplified), Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish (European/Latin America) and Swedish.
This Adventure game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:
One of the best game we ever played. If you like games like Journey play never alone.
- This is a really cute and funny game. 2. YOU CAN PLAY ON XBOX GO DO IT SAME 10 DOLLAR GAME AND IF YOU HAVE TWO XBOX CONTROLERS YOU CAN PLAY WITH TWO PEOPLE. Kid friendly BUT (spoiler alert) when the man kos the fox tell the kid IT WILL BE OK MY LITTE SIS ALMOST CRYED we HAD TO TELL IT IS OK . But one more thing have the first controler go into the pause menu on Xbox never alone and you will see a game mod button go click it and then have the second controller hit a button Kk we will keep updated :).
We love the game, but we dont want to spoil for anyone so Ill end the review right here.
We were a little weary when we read some a review saying the controls were a bit wonky as from watching gameplay, we knew you had to switch between characters and certain controls that give each character their own abilities. Still, we couldnt pass on this beautiful story and upon downloading it we found that the controls were easy to navigate and we had absolutely no issues. We just finished the game, and it was just as good, if not better than expected. Also, the cultural insights into the Inupiat people is such an interesting and beautiful feature. Download it.
We love this game it is the best game ever.
Its good but am stuck on climbing the wall,we love this game but idk how to do that the text said climb up the wall and jump but we keep failing idk how to get up there and we just know if we were scamed or not but if we are able to get past its a good game thank you for reading this we just wanted to inform people.
THE CONTROLS ARE MAKING ME ANGRY but good stories though.
We loved this game! The ending was very wholesome and happy. But we have one request. We really wanted a second chapter to the game. But overall, it was great.
We purchased this game after hearing about it and reading that it supports two-player co-op. Unfortunately it looks like the mobile version of the game doesnt actually support simultaneous two-player mode (or we couldnt figure it out). We bought the game on Nintendo Switch instead and requested an App Store refund.
This is a gorgeous game. Its obvious the developers put a lot of love and energy into this game. We loved the inclusion of the spirits as a key element of the game. However, as others have said, the controls are super finicky right when you need them to be reliable. When we try to do a wall jump to escape a polar bear, we really need the jump button to work properly every single time. Unfortunately, our frustration over the controls was such that we had to quit playing and wont get to experience the end of the story for ourselves. At least there are plenty of walkthrough videos out there.
As a non-gamer, it took us a week to complete this game. Im sure more advanced gamers would be able to get through this in half that time or less. As such, the game takes very little time to complete so thats a definite drawback. Its easy to get bored. Also, for non-gamers like us, the controls are not that easy to use. You have to have very precise timing and movement in order to get the characters to do what needs to be done or else youll be stuck in one puzzle for ages. That can be very frustrating. Also didnt particularly like how quickly this game drains our phone battery. It makes our phone overheat so quickly. But still, the game is very wonderfully designed and its interesting to see how the elements of the game relate to a real-life group of people.
The main thing we learned from this game is that Alaska is a horrible place to live.
We were almost at the end of the game, and our save was deleted. You screwed up on this one.
This game is so hard its making us mad.
Very boring, very short, and not worth $5.00.
It soooooooo hard on that swinging part (now we are stuck on another part HOW TO GET SPIRIT ABOVE WTER).
We love this game! Its amazing we finished the game and playing it again. But the part where that evil guy snaps the foxes neck really hit us hard. Besides that its a great game.
This is the best game ever. Im so blown away. We would give this game seven stars if we could. Even six stars would be too little. PLEASE make a new game. It could be another game with Nuna and Fox or it could be a similar game but with a different culture.
Ok so this game is AMAZING idk why everyone says it not worth it but it is lol. Im kinda sad that when ur done with it, u cant do anything else but that kk. Im really sad about what something happened but we not gonna spoil it for u guys. Also it pretty much a strategy game. Its full of surprises so… PLZ GET IT :D.
This is the most amazing game available on a phone but the game is way to short so we were hoping maybe you could make the game a little longer.
We love this, its aesthetically pleasing.
So the fox was our favorite character in the fox form but ever since the fox died and became a human ghost thing we didnt love the fox as much. We wish that the fox didnt have to die like there could be a way to avoid it! So in the future when people play it they wont have this weird fox person ghost like thing it is just not the same! Thank you for the game though.
This game is awesome! It looks good, tells a good story and is long. This game has challenging puzzles and is always exiting. We have just finished the game and Im totally going to play it many times again.
We recognize that this is a story first that gives a glimpse of a very beautiful culture and people with rich traditions. Thank you for sharing. The game play is side scrolling. We do like the integrated story and documentary aspects of the game best.
This game has great graphics, an awesome story, controls work smooth, good amount of gaming for your $$, good job Devs! Also learning about the culture is great.
While the game may start a little confusing, you eventually get the hang of it. The graphics are incredible and fit the story line well. It is worth the time, and is so touching we started crying in public. 10/10.
This game is incredible. You play as an Iupiat girl and her Arctic Fox companion as they journey to find the source of a blizzard that has precluded her village from hunting caribou, which they need to survive. Throughout, you score cultural insights, 1-2-minute pieces of documentary footage that deepen your cultural understanding of the Iupiat, their traditions and stories, and their relationship with their environment. You have to find the hidden owls to gain them, so you end up working hard to learn about them. We missed three of them by the time we were done, and we went back and replayed the levels to find them all. Its gorgeously done, front to back; its challenging; its so smart. And we CRIED AT ONE POINT BECAUSE we WAS SO MOVED our only criticism is that sometimes the controls dont work as expected, even when we changed the level of joystick sensitivity, so there were moments of frustration when we had to replay some scenes several times because we couldnt get the fox to clamber up a wall properly.
We love how the fox would follow us and how k would use the Bola to break the ice and k Is too cute and so is the fox And we are crushing on the fox boy And our favorite level Is ice floes.
We just read a review that said it is confusing to play… It literally tells you in big white font what is going on while you play the game. So disregard the idiot review. The game is TRULY incredible. Its absolutely captivating from the second your eyes lay on the beautiful graphics. We adore that it is a strong, young heroine that ties in not only a beautiful, true storyline but basically tiny snippets of documentaries. You have the option to watch or not watch. Its a game you look forward to coming home and relaxing with. Beautiful!! Bravo developers.
The part that we said but was we DONT LIKE THE FOX DIEING ok Im good now bye everyone.
TI GE we O IG GET GI O OO IT OIG OETIE T TI EOE EIITEY OO.
The game is amazing. Its got all sorts of emotions and adventures! The graphics are awesome and the story is too! We just wish that the fox live and didnt Changs into a different form. We also have suggestion, you should create another Never Alone but it would be the second one. It would have another adventure but it would be different than going to find the source of the blizzard.
We love this game. We found out about it by watching a YouTuber play it and instantly fell in love with it and had to play it ourselves. The graphics are amazing and beautiful. We love this game and it is totally worth the money you should buy it.
We love the concept of this game but u feel like $5 isnt worth it its too short.
When we first got this game we fell in love but then we deleted after a few months of not knowing our true game we decided to get this game again. We are having the greatest time of our life and it's very very time consuming.
We love this game so so muchhhhh!!! Very immersive and enjoyable. Hope you can make more with different cultures like in a jungle setting or desert with different types of animals and people. Great 10/10.
Awesome game but how do you get past the Poler Bear's Den part.
Our professor for a Native American studies course asked that we play this game. We understand why. It's such a fun and interesting way to learn about the Iupiat people and their culture.
This is a great game. We love the storyline and the characters. The graphics are also great. We really enjoy playing this masterpiece. We can be quite difficult sometimes, but it's very fun. It can be a bit harder to play on a mobile device than on a console, but it's still a great mobile game. We recommend this game to everyone.
We love the graphics, sound and characters. You unlock short clips of Inupiat culture documentaries along the way; we have leant a lot and end up reading more about the Inupiat after playing.
We recommend this to ANYONE over the age of 8 to play this game. Such a good story line and graphics. We hope they make more games like this one or BETTER! If they end up do we will be first to download that app.
It's funny that we never really know in what way tears would possibly wet our faces now that this game has a lot of great deep messages, sad yet strong storyline, perfectly designed and yes-YES its beautiful soundtrack has pulled our inner soul out of its safety core. Worth the $5.
We fell in love with how the game pulls you in to the story line and almost makes you feel how the characters are feeling. Awesome graphics and music that really help the game come to life. The only difficulty we had with it is sometimes it can get a little frustrating trying to figure what to do on certain stages, and the controls sometimes wack out. But other than that we highly suggest this game to anyone who thinks they would enjoy this game.
The graphics were great, the storyline was amazing, best game ever. The only problems we could find was that it drained your battery and it was too short; we finished it in 2 days. Definitely worth it, as long as your ready to drop everything to play this.
Great game and great graphics. Please make another game.
This is one of the best games we ever played. He way the game was organized was great and the storyline was beautiful. The real star of the show was the graphics and animations. It was beautiful. The character were adorable as well. We finished the entire gam in a day because it was so interesting. 10/10 would recommend and the money was worth it.
This game is awesome we love it, it has a very nice story and great graphics.
How do we purchase Never Alone version 1.01 (not the KI edition) on iPad Pro.
Never Alone is a perfect example of wonderful storyline with an impeccable game. Absolutely loved it.
We like the amount of detail put into this game. Being able to watch and see background info relating to the culture of the people is a plus. Controls usually worked good. We beat the game. But once or twice we thought about deleting it since we wasn't sure if we were going to ever get past some part.
