Pathfinder Adventures is a Roleplaying/Card game from Twin Sails Interactive, first launched in 27th April 2016.
It’s rated 9+ and currently has 727+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Pathfinder Adventures Stand Out

Pathfinder Adventures, the digital adaptation of Paizo Inc.'s Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, translates the world's best-selling Pathfinder Roleplaying Game into an entirely new breed of card game, where players cooperatively battle monsters and villains, and acquire new feats, items, weapons and allies.

Role-players will find the game's character development very familiar. Characters have classes such as fighter, wizard, and rogue, as well as numbers that define strength, dexterity, intelligence, etc. You'll improve your character by acquiring new items, allies, spells, and weapons as you explore and overcome challenges; over time, you'll be able to customize your deck to better suit your own individual vision of your character.

The game can be played solo, or with other adventurers using built-in pass-and-play functionality.

Pathfinder Adventures is free to download and play, however, some game items can be purchased for real money. If you don't want to use this feature, please disable in-app purchases in your device's settings.

A network connection is required to earn in game currency during play.

FEATURES:
• Explore the towns, cities, dungeons and landscapes of the Rise of the Runelords campaign, including the fiercely-independent Sandpoint and the goblin-infested isle of Thistletop.
• Every locale has been transformed from a card image to beautifully enhanced and animated backdrops.
• Reactive cut scenes featuring Pathfinder's iconic characters.
• An interactive tutorial ensures the game is easy to learn for new adventurers and veterans of the Pathfinder universe alike.
• No physical card game set-up required. Pathfinder Adventures gets players straight into the action.
• Multiple adventure profiles so that players can experience the campaign using every character.
• Single player and pass-and-play multiplayer gameplay mode.

Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

We were recommended by the App Store a week ago and wondering why we have never heard of this game, until we found out that it was a game in 2017. Based on the suggestions from the previous comments, we connected the mobile game with the steam and get both the game and DLC from the steam at a great deal. The reason why we are interested in the game is because we are playing pillars of eternity and other pathfinder video games at the same time. To be honest, the combat experience of this card game is somehow competitive to the more complicated video game, and after getting more powerful cards and feats by progressing the game, it really pushing you to play longer and deeper in this game. The good part of this game is it can be playing for free, or at least one-time purchase at a low price, and the experience is worth the cost. The downside of this game is a little minor bugs, like occasionally frozen. The 10 reserve card positions is far from pleasant. However, in general, it is the one of the best role-play board game on mobile device.

Game is a blast, difficult at times, but rewarding as you progress. Definitely can be beat free to play, wish the game has more expansions, more loot, and more characters. Thoroughly enjoyed New expansion hopefully ? Even some new classes, and or spells, blessings, items, allies would be nice.

Very fun game, but we recommend you buy it on Steam and then link your account to the mobile app. We paid five dollars for 90% of the game when it was on sale on Steam. Much better than buying things individually in the app. Very fun and a missed opportunity for them to add more adventures but worth your time. Make sure you link by device and use the app version to initiate if you bought anything on the app b4 getting steam to keep all yours purchases.

Please make more of the sets. Ive played this so many times and want more content. We love the additional cards that arent in the physical game as well.

Love is this game but we need a new adventure. Please give us the skulls and shekels, or a kingmaker.

This game has captivated us for years. Keep coming back to it. Has a learning curve with lots of reading and paying attention to understand what every check/dice roll is for. But the difficulty builds and it has rogue-like aspects where you can come back if unsuccessful and be more equipped to succeed at the scenario. Great game! Not Pay to win.

Only thing that would make it better is if they had more characters and adventure paths from the source game system, we would happily keep giving them money based on the execution and how faithful it is to the boardgame.

Game is a blast, difficult at times, but rewarding as you progress. Definitely can be beat free to play, wish the game has more expansions, more loot, and more characters. Thoroughly enjoyed.

We love the way this game is played! It leaves much to the imagination.. We hear about a paywall from another review but thats ok so long as it is only once we have to pay. It is worth it because this game rocks. Will update after playing some after the tutorials but so far you get five stars! Playing on an iPhone X the cards are hard to read because of small print. An iPad would be much better.

Many hours played. Spending a few $5 does help but if not grind it out and have fun. What's next team? Time for another.

We recently got back into playing this and realized Ive never reviewed it. Its a game we enjoyed so much that we forked out all the money for the added content. Not only because we wanted it but to support a developer for such a high quality experience. The game is beautiful and the learning curve, while maybe daunting at first, is pretty easy to pick up over time. The storyline is fun and the characters memorable. It takes awhile to hone in on better cards and decks, but its fun getting there.

The tutorial and the first scenario are free, so you can try out the game first to see if you like it before spending any money on it. If you like card games and/or RPGs, you wont regret paying for the games content past the first scenario. If you dont you can uninstall. Low risk, and potentially high reward. Try it out.

Significant replay value, fun, concise version of Rise of the Runelords, a great campaign. We would love to see new content.

Please make new editions like skulls and shackles.

If you want a deep, complicated dungeon crawler with lots of little fiddly things to fuss over, Pathfinder Adventures is top-notch. But casual gamers will bounce off it like a non-magic sword off a lich. Note: development is basically entirely over. Id be shocked to see another patch released. Been four years since the last one. Game works fine and is still tons of fun, but dont hope for more content.

Downloaded this game not expecting too much. Boy was we wrong! The graphics are superb and content is fresh and new each battle. Its true that the tutorial is a bit long, but it is needed to get the most out of the game. We love that you can be in the middle of a battle, and you suddenly need to close the game for some unexpected reason and when you reopen, you are exactly where you left off!. You can play for one minute or 5+ hours (like we have before), and its a new challenge every time. The game does give you small amounts of gold for closing each small area, and new cards to use or sell for 1 gold each. It is a bit of a grinch game but that is what we like. We have spent some money on gold and a few chests. Guaranteed high level items in 1 of 4. Get this game if you want something to do to fill the gaps in your bus ride, waiting at the Dr. Office or just chilling in bed before sleeping. Just a fun game.

We love this and wish they would make more.

A great game… It will be annoying at times due to failing high percentage chance dice rolls… But remember, its a dice chucking game, and if you roll 100 times, a 90% chance should fail 10 of those times. Once you get into the groove of the game, you know when to expend that extra blessing to increase the chance and when to accept a guaranteed failure. We went ahead and purchased Rise of the Runelords since we were having fun and felt a good game deserved the purchase, and feel it was worth it. We have had many hours of enjoyment playing different parties of characters, going back and rerunning the earlier scenarios so we can improve all the characters we like. And each character plays differently based on their powers and card options. Also, unlocking roles (after completing deck 3 with a character) opens up more options to customize.

We see a lot of reviews on here that are complaining about a pay wall and its unfair to rate a great game with low stars based on that factor alone. Most games on IOS are pay to play these days. Its just a fact of life now so instead of complaining about the fact you have to pay to unlock additional scenarios lets focus on how many positive notes this game hits. (Id also like to mention that the actual tabletop Pathfinder Adventure Card Game requires you to pay for each additional scenario as an expansion so this is no different other than you get to play the first three missions for FREE in this version) So here are the pros: -Plays exactly like the tabletop version -great graphics and cards are detailed -actually adds more storyline with cut scenes making it feel more like an adventure and less random -you dont have to remember all of the rules associated with each card which makes things much easier -feels like an actual campaign -Game mechanics work well Cons: -its a little clunky if you havent played the table top version so may take some time to understand the nuances and game mechanics In closing we would like to see some of the expansions developed in the iOS version as this is a great adaptation of the tabletop version.

Draw cards to defeat enemies or find magical items. Roll dice to defeat or acquire. Very fun. The base is free and includes a few scenarios. Additional scenarios can be purchased.

We love this game! The adaptation from physical game to app is very good. It is nice that they provide a way to earn scenarios without money but truly the best way to experience the game is to buy the scenarios to begin with. If we have a complaint it is: why havent the developers added the scenarios from skulls and shackles and the mummy mask wrath of the righteous. Id like to own them all (again) through this app. Keep up the good work.

If you plays the first couple quests and like it, get the 15$ pack, you get more then enough heroes to form a party up to 6 and all the adventures from the first game (referencing the physical card game). A party of 6 really adds to the strategy, customization, and fun.

His game is underrated. It was buggy when it first came out, but now it is a well polished game. Obviously to play the game you will have to spend some money but the board game it is based on is more expensive. Im looking forward to more expansions for this game.

Yes, you have to pay for it, but if you buy the whole adventure path youre getting 30 adventures and endless party configurations for replayability. This isnt a free-to-play mobile game but you get what you pay for. It adds an ok story element and great music both missing from the physical card game that originally cost 4x the price of the full bundle for the app.

We are loving this game. We had Pathfinder card game at home but it wasnt as much fun when we had to spend so much time on figuring out the rules. We love that this takes out the work and lets us have fun. We really enjoy the strategy of the card deck building and the choice of characters/location. It usually takes us a few tries to win a scenario, to get to know it and plan for it. We love the challenge. It is one of the few iPad games that we enjoy the playing of itself, rather than the enjoyment of winning or gacha aspects where you are collecting heroes or whatnot. In this game, we really enjoy the whole experience. We purchased the entire set of adventures, which is well worth it for the price, especially if you enjoy the introduction. The story/dialogue is brief but funny and enjoyable too. We are getting attached to our heroes! It did take us some time to really understand all the rules but thats part of the fun.

Fast and responsive to technical assistance great game brings the actual card game to life with a great story board.

Awesome game, took some getting use to but now that we got the hang of it we can't stop playing it. We are looking frantically to buy the table top version now to playwith others. We would love if they added expantions.

We picked this game up thinking that it looked interesting and would give it a go. We ended up playing it a lot. It has a bit of a random element but the character progression and deck building is a lot of fun. We would highly recommend.

Oh great…ANOTHER card game! …..BUT: its really well made, and just plain fun. Very pleasantly surprised! Definitely worth a download and maybe throwing them some $ down the line.

Win will you come out with the rest of the games.

We are playing this game on another OS, but we cannot leave reviews there for some reason :-( we wanted to praise this amazing game. We cannot find a dice rolling DnD style game for mobile. However, this game hits all the spots. It is fun, fast and a joy to play. We are disappointed in users complaining that it is not free to play. It is a good quality game. You can download for free and play to see if you like it (like Mario Run). We see this as a demo (like PS1-PS1 era of gaming). If you like it you can buy it. We bought it and love it. We hope users support this game because it is top notch and we are enjoying every minute. Also, for someone who likes DnD but has a family and work, and cannot sit down to set up and play the Pathfinders board game, this is amazing! Please bring the other Pathfinder board games to mobile.

Im really liking the challenge of this game early on. Ive failed the first adventure 3 times but it has been very different each time. We dont like lost mobile games, but this is one we can get behind.

Ive had a hard time getting a group of friends together for a campaign lately and just needed some good tabletop fun. This really scratched the itch for us. The card element takes DMing out of the equation so you can focus on progressing through quests, upgrading your characters stats and building your deck which is kind of like their inventory. It even has pass and play multiplayer.

Apple!!! Not wanting to pay for a full game is not a valid reason to allow a negative review. Come on, of people write glowing reviews and then complain about having to pay real money to get the full game, that should be grounds for a removal. As far as the game goes? It could be clearer when it comes to the rules and why things are happening. If you take enough time to learn it, its totally amazing. We hope they make the expansions.

This is our new favorite game. We have all the physical cards, but now we can take it with us! Please make more.

Had us hooked from the intro missions.

Just picked up the game, getting great vibes and looking forward to putting more hours into the game. Only gripe we really have with the game so far is iPhone X support. Would love to see the game take advantage of the larger screens given the amount of information shown on screen. Keep up the great work otherwise and recommend the game to anyone that enjoys rpgs.

We love this game sooo much! Its the most addicting/fun game in the history of addicting/fun games!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIVE STARS!!!!! We love this game more than pizza. There are no problems, and no glitches!!!!!!!!! If we could rate it ten star we would rate it twenty.

It is really annoying that some games are not supporting new devices.

We loved this game but for some reason it never wants to connect to the store. We came back to this game after a few years of not playing it and it is broken. We have lost all of our characters and for some reason it will not connect to the store every time we log in. Over all it plays like the board game and we're a fan. We just wish that it worked better on our iPad.

Just like the card game. While we enjoy it, aspects dont make sense like mages using heavy armor and two handed weapons but overall its very enjoyable and complex but in a good way.

We love the game, and unlike many complainants we have no issue with developers actually charging for their products. (Spend money? The horror!) However, as nearly as we can tell the game has been abandoned by the developer…no new content seems to have been generated in over a year. Too bad, we would have gladly paid more money for additional content. Definitely worth the investment to play through what is there, however.

The game is very easy to learn and if very fun its just too bad that you have to pay to get any further then zone one.

The game is for the most part, a really well crafted and an enjoyable experience, even from the small amount of gameplay you get for free (curse these new models for games to make money). You have to have a good amount of patience to get through the tutorials, and once you get a few scenarios down, a sort or analytical rhythm should be forming thatll make the experience really fun and fulfilling. If the app icon didnt make it apparent, this game acts like tabletop rpg games except without game masters and the imagination of players, but if youre looking into tabletop gaming, this could be a good place to get settled into the dice, character, and turn mechanics that many games have. Our biggest gripe about the game is the many bugs that pop up very randomly when im making plays that should save us some damage or get us a much needed item. Sometimes revealing a shield wont give the said effect, or an enemys roll for damage wont be affected by what their card says. It can be a little disheartening to see mechanics of the game switch and break, for almost no apparent reason. All in all, this is a very solid card rpg, that definitely deserves a try if youre willing to put some careful thought into.

Would love the ability to progress without a paywall.

EDIT: we finished the free adventure on the lowest difficulty (and all 3 difficulties for the firer scenario) and wanted to add these thoughts. Our one con is that the leveling up system is pretty stunted. The main way you improve your character is through deck building, but adding skills to the skill tree takes too long (finished the first three scenarios and still no growth, not sure when Ill get to add a skill or if we will). We guess Im used to other RPGs where skill tree progression is a bit quicker. Other than that, this game is FANTASTIC!! Are there frustrating dice rolls? Absolutely! Does that happen when we tabletop game? Absolutely! The advantage here is that we dont have to figure the odds ourselves, the computer does it for us, which actually leads to LESS frustration (except for those few times that your probability is above 80% and you still fail). Im going to be buying the full version of this game more than likely. We are really enjoying the freeware version of this game. Yes, you will eventually have to pay for content. The cheapest base set of the physical game is $41 on Amazon…so the portability here makes it a pretty good value we think. We have encountered a couple of bugs, like tutorial pop ups getting stuck on screen, but when we finish the current action, they go away and everything moves on. We havent noticed buggy dice rolls like some claim, bad rolls just happen sometimes, like in a physical game. The dice rolling is quite possibly our favorite part and what has won us over big time to this game. We just love rolling the dice onscreen. Why have more games not done this? How man build the buildings and tap them for resources games have we seen versus any kind of tactical battle game where you roll the dice for combat?? Get the free version and try it out, you owe yourself at least that much if youre a table top gamer.

Pathfinder Adventures is a great departure in an age where there are so few games of substance that can be played solo & offline. As others mention, its pricey to purchase characters, scenarios, and expansions, but we find the depth of play, customization, combos, and necessity for strategy well worth it. Scenarios adapt to the number of characters in your party, and since cards always shuffled, you never get the same game twice. This results in a feeling of randomness where luck is a really big factor. That can be both a frustration, and a motivator to come back with a different strategy. Overall, we enjoy and recommend this app for anyone whos looking for a solo strategic deckbuilder/RPG.

The game is really enjoyable, but there is pathetically little content unless you pay to unlock every little thing. It would be much better if it had a flat cost to download and you got everything. Id be happy to pay $7-8 for the complete game, but not $2-4 for each of two dozen different unlocks.

Don't get us wrong we love the game. It's just that it when you play certain cards from the later modules they don't operate how the text says they do. Like there's this one legendary club that when you reveal it to deal damage the game will make you discard a card for it's discard effect. And when you select it's discard effect it discards the card itself instead of another card like it says on the text. These bugs are consistent on such cards and are something we get used to. But it's when very specific game interaction happens when the game itself decides to make exceptions to how such interactions are supposed to work. Like when we're up against a specific enemy and fail the check to use spells against it, it doesn't let us make the same check next turn like it normally does for every other enemy with the same line of text. But if you got all the patience in the world to overlook these things and try to work around these bugs it's a pretty good game otherwise.

The app looks nice and seems to work well, but learning how to play this game is like trying to fly a 747 jet airplane. The tutorial isnt doing much for us. Afraid you really need another person who knows how to play to learn the ropes :/.
