![]()
Pic-a-Pix: Nonogram Color is a Board/Puzzle/Entertainment game from Conceptis Ltd., first launched in 23rd March 2012.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 2,449+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Pic-a-Pix: Nonogram Color Stand Out
Paint squares as you solve the puzzle and discover a beautiful pixel-art picture! Each puzzle consists of a blank grid with clues on the left of every row and on the top of every column. The object is to reveal a hidden picture by painting blocks in each row and column so their length and sequence corresponds to the clues.
Pic-a-Pix are exciting logic puzzles that form whimsical pixel-art pictures when solved. Challenging, deductive and artistic, this original Japanese invention offers the ultimate mix of logic, art and fun while providing solvers with many hours of mentally stimulating entertainment.
The game enables zooming the entire puzzle, or just the grid area while keeping the clue-panes locked. Other features include a unique fingertip cursor for playing large puzzles with ease and precision, and a show/hide/lock rulers option helping focus on one row and column at a time.
To help see the puzzle progress, graphic previews in the puzzle list show the progress of all puzzles in a volume as they are being solved. A Gallery view option provides these previews in a larger format.
For more fun, Pic-a-Pix contains no ads and includes a Weekly Bonus section providing an extra free puzzle each week.

Community Insight:
Please release more puzzles that are hardthey are the only ones we will purchase.
For half the price of a cup of coffee at a coffee shop, you can have hours of logic puzzles.
We couldnt figure out the regular logic games but this makes sense.
This is our favorite puzzle app! Been playing it for years. We highly recommend it.
Absolutely love this game. Conceptis has, by far, the best version of it. Our only gripe is that, for regular users, they really should offer WAY more medium plus, hard and very hard versions (color and black and white) in the 35×45 or under range. We're not ancient, we're 53, but we still have too much trouble seeing the gigantic ones on our iPad, our eyes start to water and it's not worth it to us. We'd bet money they'd increase their sales on new games and reduce the number of people, like us, that just keep playing puzzles we've already purchased due to lack of variety. We received your response and understand what you're saying. Thank you for telling us how to do the extra large puzzles and reason for them. Unfortunately we have to jump around the puzzle so much that using the zoom feature and the other options you mentioned just don't allow us the enjoyment we're looking for. Our point is that you should offer MORE puzzles in the range we stated previously. Surely you can create more puzzles in this range. And, for those of us who want medium plus, hard and very hard puzzles, spending money on "packs" that include easy and medium seems like a waste of money.
Youre putting in too many color nanograms for the weekly challenge. It used to alternate every other week, one was black-and-white and the opposite week it was color and then it became two week color one week black-and-white. And then lately its become three week color one week black-and-white. And now weve gone four weeks of color with no black-and-white. We dont play the colored puzzles, we dont find them fun and it seems like you dont care for those of us that dont play those.
We went to buy a new puzzle today 08/04 and the prices jumped a $1 per game! We have spent many dollars on this game and we are disappointed in the price hike. They were fairly priced but not anymore.
Daily puzzles better. Free daily puzzles would be more in line with similar games. Otherwise you nailed it.
LOVE these puzzles! Helps us calm down and focus after a hectic day.
This is so amazing. So many puzzles, so little time. Such a huge variety too.
We love doing these puzzles. They're fun, yet encourage you to think!!! And the implementation and navigation are surprisingly workable. We wouldn't have thought it possible to create an effective way to do these puzzles without paper and pencil, but they've done it. Love 'em.
Ive been playing Conceptis puzzles for many years, first on our computer and then on our phone too. They can be easy and challenging. Hints are available if you want to check if you are going in the right direction and you are impatient. Or you can just not look. Pic-a-Pix is our favorite. We started doing them on paper in the Penny Press logic puzzle magazines. We wanted more and found Conceptis puzzles on-line. Ive tried a couple of other apps, but these are our favorites and have the best features and ease of use. Now we can do them whenever we want to kill some time or exercise our brain with a bit of logic figuring.
We enjoy playing but think the ratings are off. Very easy to you is pretty tough for us and Im fairly experienced.
We LOVE the Conceptis puzzles, including Pic-a-Pix. They have done a great job making them challenging enough to be thought-provoking, yet still enjoyable and solvable.
We only just discovered this but the colors make it challenging and fun.
The game is good, just a little bit expensive.
We think its a great game but we wish we could drag our finger to color not just click each block.
Using pixels to create mystery pictures fascinates us, and this app handles it well. We like it a lot.
We love your app!! Can we please have more B&W Enigmas, Great Challenges B&W and Tough Challenges B&W? For some reason, the B&Ws are more challenging. Some have almost stumped us whereas we have no such problems with the color ones. Both are great though, we love your app.
We see many ads for similar games and the original, THIS original game, cannot compare. The interface is smooth and fun to play. The upper levels are challenging. The easy levels are easy, but not too much so. We have been playing pic-a-pix for many years, both on our phone and on our iPad, and its our go-to game to relax. Our only suggestion/desire would be to have more large options that are in the easy-medium range for the iPad.
Been playing it for close to 5 years. Dont mind the in app purchases cuz the large ones last us a while.
We love puzzle game and this is a great one. You can choose if you want color noes, easy or difficult, small or big. There are easy ones and very challenged ones. The final result is always good. We have seen other games of this kind whose final picture is odd. Its a great puzzles game. We love puzzle and brain teaser games but its getting difficult to find good ones without ridiculously long and inopportune ads, even when paying to avoid them. This one doesnt have those. We love it.
We love this game and do nonograms nightly. However when Im doing iPad levels and turn it on its side it becomes very glitchy and our squares get hit randomly no matter what we do which is very frustrating. Would love for that to be fixed.
Fun to solve the logic and create a picture.
We have downloaded multiple nanogram apps, but this is our favorite. You get a variety of free puzzles and can buy more for reasonable prices. Also some free ones each week. We go back and work the same ones again and occasionally buy more to add to the mix. A good variety of both color and black and white as well as different difficulty levels. No penalties for wrong taps. No single color pics that magically turn to color. True color nanograms. There is a feature to check for errors if you get stuck or you can restart. There is a helpful grid guide to help you stay in the right lane for larger pics. There are no fancy stories or side activities. And no ads! We love it.
We like just about all the Conceptis logic games but this is one of our favorites. Theres something about the combination of logic + art that our brain finds particularly soothing. The difficulty levels and sizes mean that you can choose a puzzle that can take anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours to solve depending on your mood. Lots of free puzzles to start off with, new ones are very reasonably priced and we love the weekly freebie.
We really love this type of puzzle, ever since we first saw them in Games magazine, and doing them in electronic form is the best way! We just cant afford to keep buying them, as fast as we go through them. So periodically, we will go through our finished puzzles and reset them all to have more fun with ones Ive already done. We find ourselves redoing mostly mediums, and rarely ones a little harder. One thing we love about these is that theyre always (in our experience so far) solvable using logic, not guessing. Another game we. Played often had more than one possible correct solution, and those are just bad. We wish we could afford more, but we have to live within a budget, so we have to find ways to save.
This app has the best puzzles How about maybe trying logos and more movies titles.
Edit: we just discovered that they also have dark mode. Loving it. Conceptis Pic-a-pix Is an excellent game if u love these types of puzzles. We love doing the weekly puzzle. We also bought a few extra packs to keep us entertained, for only a few dollars more while we wait for the new weekly puzzle to arrive. They recently added another 75 puzzles for free.
We wish you had more "EASY" puzzles. We would buy those. Love doing pic a pix but most are just too busy and hard to see.
Love the game! We dont like the new format! Cant see the whole game screen.
We love paint by numbers. Its our weekly puzzle.
Challenging puzzles, logically solved. Interface choices and setting options to allow difficulty level you wish. Plenty of free puzzles. Excellent designs. Trusted developer. Purchases of additional puzzles are true to options you choose and obvious before purchase. Backup options available without having to cross connect to social media.
Need something to pass the time or help work out your brain?! This is a great time passer and mind bender. We have tried all kinds of pic cross games and this is one of our faves.
Anything Conceptis is worth getting. We have all their apps (this one is a fav) and have played on them for YEARS. Simple apps, no fancy ads, just lots of puzzles. We buy more packs of puzzles as we need them and often we just repeat the same puzzle packs because Im an ordinary person and its not like we have these puzzles memorized. Im a puzzle nerd and have tried many other apps by other developers but Conceptis is the best.
This game is entertaining as well as a great training in pattern recognition.
We seriously cant get enough of these puzzles! We wish there was a free one every day.
This is actually the only good nonogram!! We tried all the other nonograms and they were all trash! This is the only good one! Anyway, This is free! No ads! No Wi-Fi required! And its just the right difficulty!! We highly recommend this game! 6 stars.
This is a much more difficult game to work through.
We find even the easier ones can be challenging which makes us want to keep at it. We think it is very good for our aging brain.
We're a big fan of this type of puzzle and enjoy these. Would love a free daily puzzle instead of weekly and wish it was possible to earn free games instead of purchase- only.
LOVE Pic-a-Pic! Puzzles provided of all sizes and levels of difficulty in both black/white and Color. Fun weekly puzzles and a huge library for shopping. Relaxing, fun and addictive (but not too much).
Hey love the game. But why only the exact same 12 colors. Its getting boring! Change up the colors. There are an infinite number of colors so you dont have to stick to the same 12. Go for more pizazz.
Finally! Glad these have arrived. Need more difficult puzzles.
Edit: maybe its coincidence, maybe they listened; either way, the devs have started adding harder puzzles to the weekly freebies, so thanks! We've tried so many nonogram apps, and this one is by far the best. So many useful features. Our one gripe is the wait between puzzles packs being released (and to a lesser extent, the cost for those packs). After playing for a while, the only satisfying games to play are the difficult ones. Only easy puzzles are included in the free to play puzzles that are updated every week, so we're forced to wait weeks at a time for a new "tough challenge pack" to be dropped.
Been playing this for years, its the best.
These puzzles offer a choice of challenges and pictures.
Love this app, really keeps our mind working.
We've tried almost every Picross app and this is the best. We've bough many of the puzzle packs and they have been fun and interesting to play. Also there are free weekly puzzles if you are just a light puzzle player.
This is our app for idle moments. We couldnt live without it.
