Ive played this game nearly 2700 times, so its safe to say we like it OK. However there is one major flaw in the bidding, and it has happened to us several times. We bid, our partner bids, it comes back to us and, though we like our hand, since our partner outbid us we assume he has a strong hand and thus pass, allowing him to carry us. Then, surprise, he passes on his next bid. Where we come from, even if he isnt a real person, we ought to be able to assume he is going to carry on the bid, at least for a bit. After all, we want to force the other side to work for it and if we dont win the bid, perhaps make them go set. This ought to be a relatively easy fix, and would improve the game. When our machine partner outbids us and we pass, he needs to bid at least 1-3 more times. You have to make a commitment to your partner when you outbid him, so that we increase the odds of winning the bid with the better of our two hands in control.
Hi, so your app is very accessible for the most part using the Voiceover screen reader. We're totally blind, used to play pinochle with braille cards. There's just one problem. We can't tell what's trump. It's shown up a few times, but we've made bad passes when trying to pass cards to our partner. So maybe if there's something that says what trump is, that would be very helpful. Other than that, we can play the game because we can count cards in our head. Update: another big problem. We're very confused. If someone plays, on our left, a Queen of Spades, and our partner (north), plays the Ace of Spades, East plays, say, Jack of Spades, and we play a King of Spades, that should give our partner and we 2 pointers. Instead, they seem to be going to the West-East partnership. That's not right! If North plays the Ace, then they get the trick. At least, that's how we were told. It seems that in this version, whoever plays the trump card first wins the trick. Was we told incorrectly or something.

Played this game for several months and it was fun. Lately tho, it is very frustrating when the game freezes, especially when you have a good hand. Am rapidly losing interest. Update: happy to report that, within an hour of our review, the developer responded. Yay! A fix for the freezing is in the works! Love the game and play many many games. Thanks for the positive response! The fix would definitely change our review to FIVE STARS.

Not a fan of the graphics but finally an App where the partner knows how to play!! Our hand covers us seeing our play but that is minor to the frustration at other Apps where we don't think the programmer has ever played the game. This one know how to play the game smartly. Thumbs up.
The graphics are just too silly, but we have tried all the other free pinochle games and this one plays the best. Bidding is the most realistic, play is decent and it knows when you will take all the rest of the tricks. Needs some work but is pretty good.
Played the game for a while then all of a sudden we cant see the cards being played cant count Trump and this just started we were able to see cards but now we cant and no way to contact anyone.
We played the first 5 games then tried to buy the upgrade and it told us we had an error. A friend tried to buy it also and same thing. We contacted support and no answer. We like your game, but no way to get help or it to work.
There is no way the actual game of pinochle is played like this one. Players will play an Ace of trump on their partners Ace of trump when they have other trump to play – just plane stupid.
It is a waste of time to play 5 games only.
The loads and then shuts down. The only way we can load the app is to shut down our iPad and restart it. This is happening recently. Did not do this a few months ago.
Most apps like this will be ad supported and/or have a limit per day (e.g., 2 hands/day). Lifetime limit of 5 hands is pretty bad. Otherwise it's a decent game.
Love the game but when you go to swap out different players screen size will not allow you to chose "Done".
Many times players will meld with cards we have in our hand. Frustrating.
Have been playing paid for game on iPad & iPhone for over a year when suddenly not able to open. Not worth the effort to stay with it.
Wish you would correct problem with loading paid Pinochle Pro. We keep trying to pay for it but instead spins past opportunity. There are a lot of us that feel this way. You are loosing lots of money. Was free for a long time until we got new IPad and now can not play.
The opponent gets killer hands 10 times to our one. We dont mind losing but the deck is stacked against us. By the way, we love the graphics! Sorry to not be playing any more.
Yeah no way we're buying your crappy app! The "players" are morons, no double deck, and worse after 5 games it tells you to buy or F off.
They only let you play a few games then the give you the ultimatum of either but the other version or play the same hand over and over again. Seems like a bad business.
Game is good. After 5 games you get the "option" to upgrade or play the same hand over and over and over and over…. Not a way to make us want to buy more. How do you know after you buy upgrade that there is not a game limit there also. Why does Apple allow this? Tell us up front limit game play. After we are through with review ….DELETE.
Commercials are a waste. We get that you have to have them but GOD.
Love the game and the characters but wish you would have an option to turn off "passing cards" or passing 0 cards on the existing option.
We have to say that the bidding is awful. Everyone always passes. We haven't played a game yet with a bid over 28. Not very exciting. We do like that our partner isn't an idiot but we hate boring games more.
We are searching for a good pinochle app. We decided to try this one because of the reviews. Our first impression was not bad. However, that quickly changed to disappointment. We had won the bid. Our partner passes two 9's that were not even trump! You NEVER pass 9's that aren't trump to your partner. We stopped the game and deleted the app. Our search continues.
5 game limit – loser! Stay away.
5 game limit? Seriously??? Then it repeats the fifth game. Classy. Several occasions where a card was clearly trumped and yet the book went to another player. Hopefully this a last ditch effort for a game designer to meet a deadline after partying too hard the night before.
- Dealingseems to be discriminatory. Programming will favor a team. Programming needs to be as random as live play with human players and real cards. 2. The computer players are unable to bid sensibly. They will bid themselves into default because the program tells them it should be their hand regardless of not being able to make the bid or going set.
We like passing four cards, not three. Thats our only complaint.
It is noted that when we take the bid, trump is indicated. When the opponents take the bid you have to be watching for their call and otherwise we do not see it indicated, you need to watch the play to figure it out. Would be nice for both and in color would be nice. Thank you.
We play the ad-free version. Ive been playing the game with few glitches and no crashes. Both partner and opponent play seems to make pinochle sense, with no one making blatantly stupid plays (like throwing a second ace to give your partner a counter early in the hand). Im curious about the Achievements, though: Ive blown past 100 games, but somehow havent earned that badge yet. We think player Shirley got broken in the recent (2024) upgrade, though. She now says after every deal thats because youre sitting in our lucky chair. She only ever used to say that when someone else got a really good hand.
This version of Pinochle has some serious flaws! Many times we had POWERHOUSE HANDS whereby we took EVERY book in the hand. Yet, your messenger comes on and says we cant make it. If we turned every book in the hand, that should WIN us the entire game, but your game crafter wont allow it! Read Hoyle! If you dont know how to play the game, you shouldnt penalize people who do know how to play the game.
When the bidder has no meld, the game freezes, and he cannot lead out his first trick. Please fix. Really like game, especially the one bid option. Meld bids would also be great.
We play a lot of pinochle, and double pinochles DO NOT come up as often as this game deals them! The deals must be rigged for high meld hands.
Over and over again our partner bids while having 2 or 3 meld and 4 cards of a suit to make trump, duh. Hand after hand, we get no aces or just one ace.
How can an opponent bid 36, make 35, and still win? This has happened so many times. And your partner bidding against you and when you pass your partner passes. Also has happened so many times. Ive deleted the app twice before and Im done this time. We like the way this game plays, but we dont like AI that cheats.
We bought this game about a week ago. Suddenly the game started quitting in the middle. Now it quits right after the bidding is finished . The players and the cards just disappear.

This game is a lot of fun. The lower ratings seem to be for earlier issues that the developer has since corrected. We like that the game automatically calculates the meld for you. Also you can see and change the players. In this version, the winner of the bid exchanges 4 cards with their partner which makes the game more interesting. There are ads, but they are not too annoying and there is an option to remove ads for $4.99. We are really enjoying this game.
Does all the thinking for you. Not a teaching app.
Game says it's free but once you play five games it makes you purchase pro or you get the same cards every hand…..DELETE.

Love this app. One issue is that your partner passes you the 9s in trump. We don't want 9s. Gimme something good. Other than that, excellent app.

The players are bizarre and the voices are disturbing. Not sure why the developers made the opponents look like Beevis and Butthead – come on can you not get more creative??? After 3 games we deleted it.
Learned to play pinochle on yahoo and this is nothing like it. Going to remove app. Bummer because id like play without waiting for a game.
Don't download!! You only get 5 games and it is worthless unless you pay for the upgrade.
