Description

Presented by Cracking The Cryptic, YouTube’s most popular Sudoku channel, comes a new game based on our frequently requested variant: Arrow Sudoku.

In Arrow Sudoku, every puzzle contains a handful of "arrows" laid out in unique patterns. The numbers found along the shaft of the arrow must sum up to the number at the base. This simple rule leads to endless variety in the puzzles you will conquer. Fans of our previous game Miracle Sudoku will enjoy the hybrid puzzles we have included in the collection including Arrow Knight and Arrow Sandwich puzzles. These puzzles were curated by Mark and Simon and include puzzles made by them as well as from a large number of guest creators. Fans of Cracking the Cryptic’s YouTube channel will recognize many of these authors as some of the most talented creators working today!

In Cracking The Cryptic’s games, players start with zero stars and earn stars by solving puzzles. The more puzzles you solve, the more stars you earn and the more puzzles you get to play. Only the most dedicated (and cleverest) sudoku players will finish all the puzzles. Of course the difficulty is carefully calibrated to ensure lots of puzzles at every level (from easy through to extreme). Anyone familiar with their YouTube channel will know that Simon and Mark take pride in teaching viewers to be better solvers and, in these games, they always craft the puzzles with the mindset of trying to help solvers improve their skills.

Mark and Simon have both represented the UK many times at the World Sudoku Championship and you can find more of their puzzles (and lots of others) on the internet’s biggest sudoku channel Cracking The Cryptic.

Arrow Sudoku Reviews

We found the puzzles very enjoyable, especially Rays and Barymetric. We love the variety of different variations included with the arrows, like the kings move restraint, knight move restraint, the addition of the sandwich to the arrow puzzle. Makes us excited to see what else they add to the app.

We found cracking the cryptic on youtube last week and immediately enjoyed the way their brains work when solving these puzzles. When we heard there was an app of theirs we immediately downloaded it. We’ve tried numerous sudoku apps, and while a lot of them are good, this in the best app we’ve seen, because of its pencil marking and coloring of squares. It turns out all you need for a great sudoku app is someone who really knows what youll want to use during a solve. Lets not leave out that the puzzles arent just randomly generated and thrown in there, they are thought out puzzles.

This is the latest in a series of Sudoku and Sudoku variant puzzles put together by Simon Anthony and Marc Goodliffe at Cracking the Cryptic. Like the others before it, this app does not disappoint! There is something for every level of Sudoku player. There is nothing computer-generated here, everything is hand-crafted to perfection. We downloaded the app the day it became available and am doing everything within our power to keep myself from powering through them all at once. We know it sounds a little corny, but like a good meal, these puzzles cannot be gulped down, they need to be savored. The challenge is going to be to pace myself and then wait for the promised updates. Great work guys, we cant wait to see what you come up with next!

Love this app. Got through the first couple and they were great fun. We have done a bunch of the other apps, but not any of the arrow puzzles from the CTC video series. We really enjoyed these and will hope our skills can keep pace with the increasing difficulty. We see phiatomefel and thats scary!

We’ve only done a couple of the puzzles so far, but they are great. These hand craft puzzles are not like the computer generated ones. There are logical paths that the constructor walks you through. Another great app from the folks at cracking the cryptic. If you like classic sudokus, will will like this app and their YouTube channel!

The guys at cracking the cryptic have done it again! Another great app with some amazing human constructed puzzles! Im looking forward to getting better at our arrow sudoku techniques as we havent done many till now.

Another 100% winner from Simon, Mark and the CTC team. This has consumed most of our Sunday and Im only just starting out with it. A wonderful complement to their YouTube channel and Patreon content. Im waiting for a snake app now… But it mustnt touch itself!

The latest in the pantheon of all-time great sudoku apps, Nick and the CTC crew have put together a fantastic collection of beautiful variant sudokus. We were only expecting standard arrows, so coming across puzzles that combined additional rule sets was a pleasant surprise. Our only complaint is the lack of iCloud syncing between devices since the code situation is a bit cumbersome and doesnt sync current progress. Id love to be able to start a puzzle on one device and seamlessly swap over to a different device when the need arises, but thats a bit of a first world problem so _()_/

Would be 5 stars except for the lack of coloring options. Great puzzles, well worth the money.

The puzzles are quite difficult, Im no sudoku wiz so we can usually only get about 20 puzzles in (this is our fifth CTC app) before we have to look at the hints, and this time we have found two hints in a row (puzzles #29 and #30) where the hints are just plain wrong, and therefore not helpful and frustrating because it reduces us to bifurcation. Im going to guess based on the grammar that mark has written the hints and thats why they are so obfuscated and rushed, perhaps Simon should try writing them on the next one.
