Cross-a-Pix: Nonogram Crosses is a Entertainment/Puzzle/Board game from Conceptis Ltd., first launched in 6th April 2016.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 302+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Cross-a-Pix: Nonogram Crosses Stand Out

Paint squares and fill regions as you solve the puzzle and discover a beautiful pixel-art picture! Each puzzle consists of a blank grid, divided into various regions, with clues to the left of every row and at the top of every column. The object is to reveal a hidden picture by painting squares and filling blocks according to the rules.

Cross-a-Pix are exciting logic puzzles that form whimsical pixel-art pictures when solved. Challenging, deductive and artistic, these puzzles offer the ultimate mix of logic, art and fun while providing solvers with many hours of mentally stimulating entertainment.

The game enables zooming the entire puzzle, or just the grid area while keeping the clue-panes locked. Other features include a unique fingertip cursor for playing large puzzles with ease and precision, and a show/hide rulers option helping focus on one row and column at a time.

To help see the puzzle progress, graphic previews in the puzzle list show the progress of all puzzles in a volume as they are being solved. A Gallery view option provides these previews in a larger format.

For more fun, Cross-a-Pix contains no ads and includes a Weekly Bonus section providing an extra free puzzle each week.

Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

We totally enjoy this game, however, it is completely frustrating to have to keep counting how many blocks in a row are filled in, to figure out how many more are needed. We would think that the ruler would tell us how many blocks are filled in or how many blocks are still needed, but for some reason, the ruler is telling us how many empty blocks there are. That helps us in no way whatsoever. Having to constantly count 30 blocks to figure out how many more are still needed is ridiculous.

We really did enjoy doing these puzzles, theyre decently challenging and pretty satisfying to figure out. The problem is that by the time you get the hang of it the free packs end. After the free packs you get access to a single puzzle every week and that just doesnt seem worth the space on our phone. We do appreciate the lack of ads on the game but, for us personally, we completely understand if you have to implement an ad system to properly monetize the app and still provide for free players, Tl:dr Good puzzles but theres not enough free content.

These are really tricky. They are fun to try, and very playable on our iPhone.

Hours and hours spent on this game.

Anything Conceptis is worth getting. We have all their apps (this one is a fav) and have played on them for YEARS. Simple apps, no fancy ads, just lots of puzzles. We buy more packs of puzzles as we need them and often we just repeat the same puzzle packs because Im an ordinary person and its not like we have these puzzles memorized. Im a puzzle nerd and have tried many other apps by other developers but Conceptis is the best.

Love the dual clue. Single clue just doesnt work for us. No fun.

This game has asked us to rate it at least 20 times, 1 star for the sheer annoyance of it. Edit: 21 times now. Edit: 22 times now. Edit: 23 times now. Edit: 24 times now Edit: regarding the response from dev, asking to us to rate your app ONCE is not a big problem. But once we give a rating, or select no, the app should STOP ASKING! We have over 300 apps on our phone and Conceptis apps are the ONLY ones that ask for a rating over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Seriously, why do your apps CONTINUALLY ask for a rating, even after you give one?? And what do you think it means when we click no we dont want to rate this? Do you think it means please ask us 500 more times? Because it doesnt.

Like the various levels of difficulty.

We love these puzzles so much fun and the app is so great in that you can buy so many more if you like them and their are weekly free puzzles you can play.

These are really tricky. They are fun to try, and very playable on our iPhone.

After many years, we still find these quite difficult in larger puzzles. Good brain workout.

Very addicting! Fun for puzzle lovers.

Fun puzzle with an excellent interface.

Been playing this game for a long time. It helps calm our brain at night. We do play a little side game and try and guess the pictures while Im making it.

We love logic puzzles and Ive tried many, but the entire suite of conceptis puzzles is far superior! Our favorites are cross-a-pix, fill-a-pix, and pic-a-pix. We look forward to every Friday morning at 6:00 am when the weekly puzzles are released! Thanks for making such wonderful products.

We have all the Conceptis puzzles. This is one of our favorites. The people at Conceptis must hire the very BEST because their puzzles are several notches above all the rest.

Great game. Been playing it for years.

This is one of our favorite games ever! We finished the free ones a long time ago & always look forward to the weekly ones 10/10 would recommend.

Great brain exercises. We love this app.

We mostly love all the Conceptis puzzles. However, what we hate about this one is the way it always grabs it away and finishes it without us at the end. Please let us fill in all the white spaces instead of finishing it for us when we've filled in the black spaces.

This is honesty one of our favorite apps. We love this game.

Edited 12 July 2021: 3 years later and Im finally getting a handle on the double puzzles. The single ones still cause us to use all our brainpower and still fail occasionally. Hopefully, by next year Ill finally be good at these. We still attempt them at least once a week. Edited 25 July 2020 Well, its been a year since our last review and Im still hooked. We still think these are the hardest of the Conceptis puzzles, but we are finally at the point where we can (usually) do the easy ones. We completely enjoy the way Conceptis forces us to use our brain! Edited 26 July, 2019: we still find ourselves baffled by this puzzle many times. The doubles are pretty easy, but we struggle to get the easy ones in single mode. That said, its the first puzzle we open each week because we are fascinated with how it makes our brain work. Concept is puzzles are amazing! Original Review: Yet another great logic/puzzle game. This one took us a while to figure out how to get started. Unlike their other puzzles, we thought the instructions were very confusing, but once we figured out what we were supposed to do, we took off and haven't looked back. These puzzles require a LOT of work, but they're incredibly satisfying when you get them. Another thumbs up.

We love this and all other conceptis puzzles. Ive played for years, and enjoy the weekly puzzles as well as replaying the default ones. In this app and other conceptis apps, sometimes the screen freezes while we play, and we can only escape by pressing the power button. Even then, it takes about 30 seconds for the phone to recognize that we pressed the power button to snooze the screen. Id love to see this glitch fixed, then we could give the app a full 5 stars.

Love the dual clue. Single clue just doesnt work for us. No fun.

Ive been enjoying this game for ages, but this week the bonus puzzle is a man with a feather in his hair, titled Indian. Whoever is creating these puzzles, please educate yourselves immediately. You need to do better.

10 year member of the conceptis webpage. LOVE the portability of these apps and the challenges they provide.

This is a fantastic game. Its the best one Conceptis has to offer. We dont spend money on games in general but we buy puzzle packs for this and other Conceptis games because we appreciate that these are high quality games and theres no nonsense involved. These are some of the most interesting puzzles out there to solve, and there isnt a constant stream of disruptive ads ruining the experience. If you love this game, throw them a couple dollars once in a while (you can restart packs and get a lot of plays out of them before they become too familiar).

Good logic game – nice time filler.

We love this game. The app works great. You get a bunch of puzzles free to start and a free puzzle each week, so you can use the app completely free. Or if you want more, you can purchase additional puzzles.

If you enjoy picture logic puzzles, youll like Cross-a-Pix. Its a cool variation on the picture-logic formula, and its addictive.

Probably our favorite of the conceptis games, challenging, but not impossible.

This is the best puzzle games we've ever played we've been looking for something like this for a while and finally we've found it.

Why am we SOOO addicted? This is becoming a problem! These developers have taken so much money of ours ;-) This game is awesome. It has a steeper learning curve, but stick with it. Can be difficult! And there are two different games. New players – start with dual clues games IMO. We're loving it but have to admit that each game takes quite a while to play, and we've found ourselves needing the green (the row/column is correct setting), and the "check for mistakes" help for now. Those have been abandoned in pic-a-pix long ago ;-). We think another easy/small pack, or at least a few more obvious rows in bigger puzzles would help. Update: thank goodness they've added Snacks. The big ones and smallest are tough IMHO. Love that we can turn off the ability to not see iPad packs. Yay, their other apps have added that too! Ok, back to playing! Oh, no ads or anything, yay! Puzzle packs are a bit $, but can be replayed a lot! Tip from author email (since this is different from older versions of pic-a-pix and we can't find it in Help) – To reset all puzzles in a volume, go to the Library screen and slide any volume to the left. You can also hide volumes this way.

This is our favorite puzzle right now. We've been playing conceptis puzzles for years. We love them on our phone and online. We would love a battleships app.

Conceptis makes the best puzzles. This is our new favorite.

We would actually prefer an option to turn off the cursor thing. We play on the ipad, so there isnt really a need, and its annoying to move it around rather than just tap the sections.

Good fun for those who enjoy visual logic problems.

It's hard. Much harder than pic-a-pix but we really like it.

These are so fun…and some make you think. Love both of their apps.

Easy to challenging but always fun.

We just downloaded it but we are having a hard time trying to figure it out particularly the single clue but we really love doing all the puzzles.

We play and enjoy all of your puzzles but we're addicted and we've haven't gotten a new collection in over two weeks! We need more than just one freebie a week.

Please make the cross bars optional! It significantly slows the process of solving the puzzle by limiting the ability of when / where to place a mark without moving the cross bars first, making the puzzle actually harder to solve. We love playing this online and find the app unusable.
