Until She’s Farmable, Elrond Is Out Of The Picture
"I’m not buying Arwen to 5 star. Until she’s farmable, Elrond is out of the picture", Matt Costello says.
- The fact that there is such a huge paywall in front of not only the actual unfarmable characters (Arwen and Elladan) but even on the hard node farms (spending gems to refresh them or a potential Elf pack they’re gonna put out before Elrond because they know this was a ridiculous release date) is insane. My Lomion is a few shards below 4 stars right now, which means if I don’t start refreshing twice there is a good chance I will miss Elrond the first time around, even though I started farming over 3 weeks ago (less than 10 days after launch). And that’s after having spent $150 on Arwen and Elladan, are you kidding me?
This game has no content-worthy equivalent to Blitz or Galactic War, but at least we got a legendary 1.75 months into the game with 2 weeks of official forewarning about what characters would be needed! \s If I don’t get Elrond this round I am dropping the game, sunken cost fallacy be damned. It’s the first legendary in the game and even Pay to Win players are struggling to get it. In that case, there is no future for this game imo.
Really thought CG would be kind for the first legendary in order to rope us into the game. Apparently, I was wrong. At least I can get out early enough to not commit half a year into this game.

Blackbird: 4:09 Naremiri (another elf) also grants protection to the ally with the most banes. At level 5 it’s two turn CD.
Andrew Fossatti: Aeldred supposedly grants 2 stacks of regen for 2 turns in his kit. I haven’t tried him to confirm

Aidyn O’Connor: Not a hugely impressive kit tbh, between the slight nerfs to his skills (vs what was data mined) and the harder nerfs that Elladan has taken, I would hope they also plan on taking the nerf bat to the Witch King, because based on the data mined information, if he isn’t also nerfed prior to launch, it will be significantly unbalanced/overpowered compared to the Elrond team

Mirphh: Just a minor correction for you when it comes to pricing for the 5* marquee character. It took about $70, not $150 in order to take Arwen to 5*.
$20 for the 80 shard bundle, and $100 for the crystal pack, of which I spent half on the Arwen shard chests

Roy Acaba: You are definitely downplaying how expensive elrond is . Arwen or upcoming elf have to be bought . Thats $100 alone but you are neglecting the need to spend a ton of gems to get the others to 5 stars also
