Did you really had to make it a subscription like come on it used to be free what is wrong with you guys!

This game was outstanding and so much fun. What a shame this large company came and bought it out and slapped ads all over the place. Considering we paid for this game and it now has ads like a free game, Ill probably refund it and get our money back.

Looks like this great game was killed and sucked dry by a greedy parasitic leech. Slapping Gameclub in the name, adding a Gameclub around the border of the app icon, and requiring you to sign in to Gameclub to play this game. Now thats one hungry, greedy parasite. Sad to see this game go, but we guess thats just survival of the fittest around here. :/ If you buy or download anything from them, youre enabling their behavior. Stand strong, dont buy any of their crap. Wave wave is gone, but we can ensure other games wont face the same fate.

This used to be a great game but then you came along and completely ruined it.

We’ve owned Wave Wave since launch many years ago, and opening it now only led to more disappointment. It’s not about anything the developer did. No, the developer of Wave Wave is actually in the process of making another entry to the Wave Franchise as we speak. GameClub as a publisher has an inherently flawed approach towards indie developers for iOS. How and why? Well who wants to be pay-walled by a subscription that gives you unlimited to tons of games you didn’t ask for all to play A SINGULAR GAME WITHOUT LIMITS OR RESTRICTIONS?! Many other developers have watched some amazing games tank in rating, reviews, and more because of shady and garbage publishers like Playond or GameClub. They do nothing but harm the developers and the users trying to play the game by making nobody want to download the game. For example, this had happened to WoblyWare and the creator of Daggerhood. Even as someone who has unlimited access to the game due to our previous purchase of Wave Wave as a paid application, GameClub is genuinely even more intrusive with the fact that it has random pop ups, their obtrusive interactive logo that’s in the way of every UI element in the game outside of main gameplay, and the fact that they removed the link to the original developer’s Twitter account. Wave Wave and its real developer are what really made the game a masterpiece. Publishers like GameClub and Playond are really what ruin games. If you’re an indie developer looking for publishers, we recommend you check out Crescent Moon Games; that’s where games like Daggerhood went after they got hurt from people like Playond and GameClub.

Hello, we came from this YouTuber who played this game, and we thought it would be a bit fun to play. We see many reviews about the game being subscription based. We thought the subscription was being able to like unlock new things and be able to play. We download the game, then it advertises the subscription. There is NO WAY to play the game without paying a subscription. It pops up, and there is no we want to play this game, we dont really want to subscribe kind of button. NOPE, there is no button like that in sight. This is unplayable. We tried multiple ways to get AROUND the paywall. There isnt a way. Try making the game PAY TO PLAY. Like, In order to download, pay $1.99 it may be free, but there is a subscription, we do not recommend playing. Edit: Thanks, developer for responding. We were able to get past the subscription pay wall. We still dont get the fact that you only have 10 MINUTES to play the game when you just want to play the game and dont want to subscribe. Just allow people to not to do the subscription, we just want to play the game, its fun. Stars arent changing at the moment.

We love games that follow the perfect pattern of Super Hexagon. We can tell a lot of inspiration came from there. But selling to Gameclub was a big mistake. The game is now hollow and subscription based. Its disappointing to see another great game be taken away and moved to a subscription system. The reviews of this game are filled with Gameclubs garbage PA copy/paste script. We wish we could rate this higher, but the game just isnt worth $5 per month. And we know that Gameclub supplies hUnDrEdS oF hOuRs Of CoNtEnT but its just not worth it. This game was awesome. But its gone now. Lay it to rest and uninstall. Goodbye Wave Wave. Youll be missed.

This could have easily been a fun free game with the use of advertisements but they decided to make you have to pay to play which is kind of annoying.

Exactly the title the paywall just ruins the game so Id rather play super hexagon.

We love the new update. Never thought the hardest game we ever played could get harder and I’d still love it, but here we are. UPDATE 2019: Still love this game, sad to see some loser ripped it off and is putting massive amounts of ads on it.

We started on a dare to complete this game, but we soon became addicted and this is our 7th time besting the game! So fun! Please Get This Game!!!

This is our favorite game and it is very colorful. And our favorite color is on the cover of the game which is awesome. It is one of our favorite game.

Add Extreme Mode (60s+)Starting Options(Like super hexagon) For Insane People Like us. Also, this game is high quality and definitely for people who enjoy super hexagon but want different mechanics to play around with. The music is nice and pretty much the only people who dislike this game think its a copy of super hexagon or liked the old version more(a prospect we disagree with because wave mode is kind of cancerous). If you dont fall into either of those two parties, you will definitely enjoy the game.

Okay, let’s start off with if that the games great, but we have seen much better from you. You had a great game, with so much playability and it’s so addicting. Now, it’s completely different game that us, and some other people aren’t found of. We had the one and only Wave Wave, and now we have anger, different, odd game. We’ve seen better from you, and for that, we’ll give this new Wave Wave three stars.

If you liked the game "Super Hexagon" then you’ll love this too. Amazing music and addictive gameplay! Highly recommend. Our only wish is that we could play our own music and it make a level based on the song we’re playing.

We love this game even though it is obvious that you took some ideas from super hexagon. But that is beside the point. We recently downloaded a game called dot wave. This game is almost exactly like your game. Now we can tell that it wasn’t an exact copy, but still he copied the graphics and gameplay. We could be wrong and you copied, but we thought that we would tell you in our review. And it’s a great game by the way.

We really like the game, but we’re on Wavex on Rotator Mode and we wish there was more; so please make a harder difficulty . You could call it "The Wave". We’ve seen some videos on the old version and it looks really fun so please add that to the rest of the game in the next update too. Also please male it so that you don’t have to watch the end video every single time; we know this might not be a problem for a lot of people but we beat the game alot and we just want to play.

Very very difficult, but fun. Requires a lot of patience.

This is a super hard version of super hexagon. We are on the final level for hexagon, and we’re nearly there. Bottom line, this game is a total copy of super hexagon, but it is fun. RECOMMENDED PLAY ON A FRIENDS PHONE WHO HAS THIS GAME.

Plz bring back wave mode it was much better and what this game was named after Amirite?

The difficulty on this thing is practically insurmountable. We got to a point where we just wasn’t improving anymore. In other words, we survive 40-50 seconds max. This is after hundreds of tries. The other modes aren’t anymore forgiving. So yeah, not a whole lot of fun to be had here. Not very many game modes either.

We previously played this game on our friend*s iphone and it was incredible but when we downloaded the game soon it was completely different. So we were extremely furious and disappointed. Please give us back the old gameplay!!! It was muuuch better. If you do it for us in the next update we will change our review and give you 5 stars.

Still miss the near-perfect, original iteration of this game.

It is reminiscent of Super Hexagon, which we absolutely loved, but the gameplay is a different style. It’s very fun, maybe worth 2 dollars but then again hexagon was around this price. Not too hard just need some getting used to and timing. Glad we got this game as we love these style of games. We didn’t know it before the "update" but right now it is great.

They have the original mode where it says modern it say legacy next to it click legacy and boom original mode but we don’t know if they have wave mode still or those collectables but if they don’t they should bring it back.

We first played Wave Wave some time ago (before the update) on a friend’s phone, and liked it very much. We told the friend that if he liked it, he should get Super Hexagon, because they were somewhat similar. We just bought this game on our own phone yesterday, and we were very confused. This "Wave Wave" game was not the same game we had played on our friend’s phone. It was a total copy of Super Hexagon, right down to the level titles (Wave, Wavier, Waviest) and the narrator (Game over. Begin. Repeat). We don’t know if this content was already in the game and we didn’t see it on our friend’s phone, or if it was in the update, but we don’t like it. The newest update has picked every bit of originality out of the game, and we’ll be deleting it.

We don’t want to be a bad person. We want to support creative developers who try new things and do cool stuff. But in this case, we don’t like the new Wave Wave. We like how it looks. It’s cool looking. But we were never very good at Wave Wave in the first place, and the new version basically starts at the difficulty we would start dying at in the previous version. So, we can’t really play it. "Get better," no we want to have occasional fun always playing the same 16 seconds of Wave Wave over and over again, not the same 2 seconds. We thought that Legacy mode would actually be the old version, but it isn’t. It’s the new version with a skin for the old version. It’s weird. We don’t like it. We’re sad. Why make us sad? Please find some way to release an update that has the old version in it. If we’re an idiot and the old version is accessible somewhere and we don’t know about it, we’ll figure it out eventually and update our review. If you could put in a "baby mode" or something, name it after us for all we care, where Wave Wave is almost slow to the point of not even being much of a game anymore ("relaxation mode"?) that would be amazing. We’re not a pro gamer but just some dude who likes abstract shapes and moderate challenge. UPDATE: New legacy modes still aren’t the old version of the game. We guess sticking the old game inside the new game must be super complicated or something. We maintain that this update should have been Wave Wave 2 or something and the old version was left alone…

Changes made are horrible. Game is no longer fun. What on Earth were you thinking? Bring back the old one pretty please.

This app is really fun, Glad we didn’t get it for $2.99 though… Chumps!!

Go back to v. 1.0.7. It was better then. It’s still a fun game, don’t get us wrong, but the current version pales in comparison to the previous version of the game.

Please change back to the old game it would be greatly appreciated.

You had a great game and made it horrible.

In our opinion, this game looked much more appealing before the previous update. We get that you’re trying new things to change the game up a bit but it would have been a lot better if the way the game looked was just left alone. It would be nice if you could somehow implement some way to play the game the way it looked before the whole visual update, considering that (this is our honest opinion) it looked A LOT better than it currently does and that the previous look was a major factor of us buying this game in the first place.

Our new favorite game. Although if as another reviewer has said only a handful of people have reached 60 seconds (I certainly haven’t) maybe that justifies changing the unlock times or removing them altogether–seems a shame to make content nobody will see, no?

The 2.0 update was cool, but we personally enjoyed the old game with multiple modes, like flip, etc. And the old one had a good tutorial. It still has the legacy, but it just rotates…

We liked the original game but 2.0 ruined the game for me.

Don’t buy this game. Wave Wave is an absolutely awful game. The game is just way too hard. Seriously, this game is absolute torture to play and we enjoy some very challenging games. It’s just so difficult that it gets to the point of just being a horrible game. We spent so much time in this game trying to get over a minute in rotation mode to try to unlock expert rotation mode but just quit eventually because it’s near impossible. Then we checked Game Center and saw that less than 50 out of over 3000 people could do this. We just deleted the game after that. Tom Janson or whoever created this game is obviously just a loser with no life if he honestly thinks people are so skilled at video games that they can enjoy games like this.

Why would someone play a game where it’s impossible to win, well, this is one of those cases. The idea is interesting but they made it so outrageously and ridiculously difficult, it’s a joke. Our recommendation: do not buy, it’s a waste of cents.

Every time we hand our phone off to someone so they can try Wave Wave, they usually hand it back to us after a few seconds going "nope," and with good reason: it is a viciously hard game. We’ve had it for months and can’t last more than about forty seconds on even the easiest mode. We love it. This update gives the game a visual overhaul, with some major tweaks to the way the game is played. The core experience is the same; fueled by a fantastic soundtrack, you control a line as it surges across your screen, navigating a series of barriers as they come barreling in from the other side. You will lose almost immediately, and repeatedly thereafter, as a female voice calmly tells you "game over." You may find yourself wanting to hand the phone back to your friend, or maybe throw it as hard as you can against a wall, but if you like a challenge, you’ll be back. Unless you did the wall-smashing thing. A note to those who are familiar with the original version of this game: the Legacy Mode in the description is not the game you were playing a few days ago before updating. Legacy Mode is the old graphical style with the new gameplay style, and it is definitely different. It’s almost like we just got Wave Wave 2, but in doing so we lost Wave Wave 1. To be clear, it’s still a blast to play, and in a lot of ways is more satisfying and challenging than the original, but we’ll admit we were pretty sad about not being able to play random mode, struggling to stay on track while the course distorts around us, dreading that awful moment when the announcer says "flip," and the screen and controls do exactly that. All this having been said, it is early days, and the kind and responsive developer has assured us that he is taking this fact into account for possible future updates, so don’t despair. To sum up: Wave Wave is a beautiful twitchy adrenaline rush. Get it.

You took a game that was amazing before and cleaned up the visuals and mechanics. A perfect 5.

First and most important thing, add split screen support again! We play this game with friends during lunch and it doesn’t work without split screen. Second, could you please add a much better legacy mode that is exactly like the old version. Third, make the new UI a little easier to understand. The old UI was easy to understand. This is not a bad review. This game is a fantastic game and very difficult. We just think the new version needs some touch ups.

What came first, the Super Hexagon or the new Wave Wave? (It’s super hexagon, try it out sometime and see how much wave wave is influenced by it.)

We loved the old version, it was more elegant and refined. This one looks bad, things got moved and now it looks like a version of super hexagon and we do not like it. At all.

We loved wave wave so much! It felt and looked amazing and new. Now it looks worse and low budget! Pleaseeee fix this.

Great game until update! No fun anymore, please bring the old game back!

Not what we once purchased. This new update is absolutely horrible. Release a new title if you’re going to make a new game, don’t reformat the entire thing and keep the same name. What were you thinking?

We use to love this game. It was paced so brilliantly and gave you enough challenge with a good sense of gratification for getting just that much further. This version takes all that gold and smashes it against the wall. You no longer feel there is a pattern you can get a grasp on. The new styles are both confusing and way too tricky that even the best twitch gamer will fall flat before they even have a chance and there are many video replays to prove that. It’s not that the challenge is higher; it’s just not intuitive anymore. Before the update the challenge would slowly ramp up the further you got but in this one you are thrown right into insane mode no matter the mode you chose. This is not fare to the player at all. To the developer: we recommend you go back to the old formula. It’s ok to switch up the visual style but leave the court mechanic alone because there was nothing wrong with it. It’s ok to add modes that ramp up the challenge faster but don’t take away what people already loved. We rate this game a negative star for poor directional choices and detrimental mechanical changes that will piss people off before they have a chance to succeed.

This was a five star game until the most recent update, "Legacy" was supposed to be a classic mode but it’s just like the other modes, just with blue triangles. We probably won’t get this until we see there’s an update to completely use the old UI and gameplay, but we’re sure people just now hearing about Wave Wave will enjoy it!

The new update looks terrible! Seriously? The old one was better. Like WAY better. This game WAS worth $3. Now it should be free. Trust us, if you have the game, DONT UPDATE. Unless you want an icky new pixelated design not to mention 10x harder. If you’re considering buying it, any good reviews are probably from people who haven’t updated.

This game is brutally hard. However, it is absolutely amazing. Fast-paced with great visuals and better music, if you like games that will test your skill, GET THIS GAME.
