Community Insight:

Thought provoking enough without being too difficult. We got stuck a couple of times, but persisted and found the way. Great app.

We love point and click style games, came across this, played it and got hooked. Chapter 1, 2 and 3 are paid games, but not expensive and absolutely worth it. Great puzzles, engaging story and very captivating. Highly recommend checking this out. Ill be not-so-patiently waiting for chapter 2 of the story Aurora Hills to come out now.

Amazing game, must play. We think it would be nice if there were Game Center achievements.

We played the entire series and the prologue section too but it ended suddenly saying To Be Continue Is there another part to this prologue, it will be one or the developers just ended the game there.

Not as complex as some of the others. We enjoy all levels of complexity. Story is good. Refreshing to not have occult symbolism for a change. Makes you think, but its not so difficult that it becomes frustrating. We are enjoying it.

Theres one puzzle, the drawbridge ons, where if you mess with it once, theres no way to figure it out unless you check online. That one is extremely annoying, but other than that, NovaSoft, we need Aurora Hills 2 and 3 out NOW.

This was right up our alley after playing The Room series & all the Glitch games. Well put together, love the spooky theme and relaxing music & sound effects. Looking forward to more from these creators.

Pretty much the best modern point and click for immersion and atmosphere its just a real bummer that the game is letteredboxed (on pc too). Guess devs are using a low resolution/ old opensource game engine??? We dunno, really just wish it was fullscreen.

We look forward to playing the full version of this game.

We love puzzle games like this one. This was thought provoking and kept us wanting to play more.

For maximum helpfulness of this review here are our notes on this game. Pros: This game has a LOT going on. The puzzles are awesome and really satisfy to figure out. It is child friendly (up to chapter 3 because theres some creepy hospital rooms with ancient blood but nowadays no kid cares anymore ) and the art is amazing. The puzzles make sense, at times its quite terrifying and at times quite funny. The whole multi- chapter game is quite a good use of 3 or 4 days- (if youre a good puzzle solver- and we love escape games). Lol! Cons: SPOILER ALERT: Sad ending for David Zander. Poor guy never returns home to his extremely tiny house (with no bathroom, we noticed. Maybe he has another house in the back.) Anyway the ending frustrated us for awhile but we have replayed this game 30,000 times because it never gets old:) Also like we said the story is awesome but has some plot holes. Who exactly are the shadow people? And why the heck is there a photo of our boat later on in the game? Omg! The playing of this is awesome and we dont personally have a lot of cons. This is probably good for maybe 10+ at least if said child has plenty of patience. Notes: The prologue is pretty easy on hard mode. Hard mode basically means no hints and it wont help with puzzles. We would greatly advise turning on normal mode on at least chapter 1, 2 and 3 as there are a few puzzles that are so hard to solve, and there is a chapter 1 puzzle with an oil barrel (no mental work; youre messing with pipe things) that multiple times makes it tough to progress in the game. Even if you dont want to use hints, you can put it on normal just in case you need it and then you wont have to restart if something goes wrong, which is awful! To the developers: Please make more games like this! We heard about another game by yall called Aurora Hills and it looks amazing, cant wait to try! Also it would be awesome if you could get it more 3d so you can move the screen around to see clearer. :) Hope this was helpful! Thank you Novasoft for making such a great game!! :D.

We almost never leave reviews on anything but this series is has been the best iPhone escape room game Ive played (and we have played too many) and one of the best iPhone games Ive played in general. The graphics and story and so detailed and beautiful it felt like we were playing a PC game. All of the subsequent chapters are definitely worth paying for. Im looking forward to the ongoing development of their next series :).

We play games like this to be challenged. That said, we had to use the hints a few times and sometimes they were helpful and sometimes they were useless. The puzzles didnt have directions and the graphics were often too dark to see everything. We had to google a walkthrough to solve 2 of the puzzles. However, Im about to download the next game in the series because theres something about it that makes us want to keep going.

We enjoy this type of game, but often quit before finishing out of frustration getting stuck on an obtuse puzzle. This game has one of those as other reviewers have said, the bridge/flag arrows one. But its the only one, theres a solution for it right in these reviews, and we found all the other puzzles to be fair and just the right amount of challenge. Also there was one (only one!) item we needed help to find. The game was fun, moved at just the right pace, excellent graphics and sound. One star off for just how bad and out of character the bridge puzzle was. Ill be buying the other chapters. If you like Myst type games, this is a good one.

We might of jumped the gun there its a hard game.

No where near enough game feedback to let a player even guess at what they are attempting to have the player accomplish. Usually only a single thing to find in most scenes but again. O feedback to let them know if there are things they are missing. Graphics and sound is good, but again too little feedback on what is happening.

This game is one of a kind truly fun.

We played on hard mode without hints. Puzzles were all fair: the flag puzzle was a nice twist we hadnt seen before. There were a couple of spots where an item or exit wasnt obvious and we had to click around to find them but otherwise a good prologue and well worth the price of free.

Ive really enjoyed all the games in this series, and the intro is a great place to start. (Especially since its free, so you can try it before you buy it.) Mood and atmosphere are really cool, with good visuals and sound. Very well done game, especially for such a small team. Highly recommended.

This was such a fun and challenging game. The ending def has us wanting to get the follow up chapters. Loved it, thank you! Cant find great games like this anymore especially without the ads.

We love everything about this game from the grunge look, to the music and finally to the brain twisters.

This is a really amazing escape game series. Ive played dozens, but this one is perfect for us. The puzzles are challenging and fun, but absolutely doable. All clues etc are logical, no wild guessing needed. And it is absolutely possible to play through all chapters without help by just thinking logically, we still took a few hints (which are really useful). But looking back, we could have though a little harder and sorted it out ourselves. Its a wonderful game.

We like the game, bought all 4 chapters, but graphics quality could be much better, hurts our eyes looking into pixelated pictures. That bridge lever puzzle is absolutely nonsense, had to cheat and look up in google. Rest is fine.

Enjoyed the prologue; so much better than mindless point and shoot games or finding objects in a picture. Took us a while to finish and found it hard to quit.

This has been our favorite mobile game Ive ever played. We played all four chapters and we plan on playing through them all again real soon. Worth every penny. Wouldve paid more to be honest, its just so good. Challenging but not impossible and the art is stunning. Cant wait for Aurora Hills.

Seriously a really good game. We just finished playing chapter 3 and loved it. The puzzles are fun and challenging, the artwork is beautiful, and the story is fascinating! Can't wait for Aurora Hills.

ITs a great puzzle game to get your brain thinking.

The mood is our favorite environment plus music is perfect for a rainy day puzzle game! Ive replayed quite a lot and cant wait for their next series.

These four games are really solid, well-done games. There are no glitches or bugs that we found. The puzzles are very enjoyable with some fairly easy and others quite difficult. The hints are very useful when needed. The storyline is engaging and interesting and the graphics are very well-done also. We have no complaints about these games at all and hope to see more great games by this developer in the future.

Pretty fun little game. Good puzzles semi interactive wish it were brighter.

Free! Intriguing story. Puzzles just the right level of challenge.

As a fan of murder/mystery/puzzle games; this app caught our interest with its beautiful artwork and esthetics. Plus the Prologue is free, which is brilliant – because it definitely drew us in to the point where we want to purchase the next Chapters just to see what happens next. A few of the puzzles were a bit tricky/unclear on how to navigate. But it reminds us of the old school point-and-click adventures where the solutions didnt always make total logical sense. So for the sake of nostalgia, we wont judge those few head-scratching moments too harshly. Especially since Im able to take as much time as we need to solve each puzzle. There are certainly enough puzzle games that have an arbitrary energy system – solely for the purpose of making you wait long periods for the energy to refresh or pay money outright for the privilege of continuing. We much prefer to just purchase a game and enjoy the immersion without a constant ticking clock taking us out of the experience. So this game is a welcome breath of fresh air in that regard. Also, we did notice in the credits that most of the work was done by two people. And we have to say that we respect that immensely. It must have taken a lot of time and effort to make this game a reality. And we hope that its successful enough to keep the creators motivated to make more gems like this one. We definitely look forward to whatever you guys might put out next. But in the meantime we have the rest of Meridian 157 to explore. Thank you for this amazing experience.

Support more developers like NovaSoft: two gifted individuals producing outstanding gaming experiences without resorting to data collection nor ads. We will absolutely pay to play for high quality games such as this. Just purchased Chapter Two. Excellent, well-executed puzzles, exceptional sound and an immersive experience. Thank you.

We love these types of games that you problem solve them with puzzles. We were so engaged in the plot and the game. We only wish that we didnt have to pay for the other chapters to see the aftermath of the game.

We played these Meridian games in real time, so we had to wait for the next chapters to be released. Now you can binge them all at once, so good for you! Challenging point and click adventure with a mysterious feel. Youre not going to find hints or prompts. You get to live the confusion and sense of discovery along with the hero.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME its one of our favorite escape room games ever! We tried finding a chapter 2 after it said to be continued but we just couldnt find one maybe its the games that it says also made by but Im really not sure. All we know is that this is our favorite escape room game.

Its great puzzles are great all of its great.

Ive played through all three chapters now, and we can easily say that this is hands down the best escape room app Ive ever played. The graphics and music are beautiful, the storyline is really interesting, and the puzzles are the perfect balance between challenging and intuitive. Love that you can play with or without hints. Worth every penny and more, and we hope the developer comes out with more. Wonderful game.

We took one star off because we got stuck on the flag puzzle and the clue made it even harder because it made it seem like we were looking for a map or something 2D. We had to go outside the game for help because we think it was too obscure to be a fun puzzle for our skill level. Most of the game/puzzles were fun. It had a clear plot, intuitive screen layout, and it loaded quickly between scenes. Our only other feedback is that 1. It would be nice to have a setting where the item case will auto-close after using an item. We had to keep manually closing it because it covered so much of the screen. And 2. It would be cool to see what you are looking at in the camera view when you take a photo, like a real camera.

To give you a teaser for what youre going to buy it was pretty good. Its very much like Myst, which is what we were looking for. We read that some ppl had an issue with the drawbridge. We didnt really have a problem once we slowed down and thought about it. It is exactly what it says, a prologue. Its only a taste of whats to come.

This is a good game, however, they need to do a few things to make it great. First off, they should give you instructions on how to play the puzzles. Also, Im taking a star wave for that arrows clue, and the puzzle used to get the drawbridge down. It made absolutely no sense, to us, or any of the people whove done the walk-throughs on YouTube.

It was really creepy but a great game. We had no problems.

We were really excited to see this game as it looks very similar to glitch games cabin escape and we thought maybe they had teamed up. But look past the graphics, and the style, and the puzzles themselves were pretty boring and sometimes didnt make sense as to why the clue went with the puzzle. We agree with other users that mentioned the lever puzzle logic was strange and the clue was also confusing. We would say the last puzzle was the most clever. We also enjoyed getting to go for a virtual dive :). We are curious to see what the next chapter holds… We loved glitch games and we would love to play more games like that. We think these games could get there, they just need more challenging puzzles and better clues, and the camera could do more.. Like drag an image out, and be able to mark up an image. All in all, we see potential here, we hope they keep at it.

The entire game (all 3 chapters and prologue) is great but that drawbridge puzzle is not well done. SPOILERS BELOW for how to complete**** Here's how the puzzle works: The starting position of your levers does not matter. The clue itself (the flag with arrows) means that the farthest left lever (Lever 1 for simplicity) is at level 4 aka the top notch since counting from the bottom, moving up is 4 – it's these 4 up arrows begins the puzzle. You must get that in the right position in order to make the rest work. Then you move to the Right indicated by the Right arrows aka 3 spaces right from the lever (Lever 1) you just worked on – its Lever 4 when counting left to right. Now this is where it is so unnecessarily obtuse without any indication this is what's happening. Lever 4's instructions have 2 down arrows. 2 down from the top? 2 down from current position? NOPE. Technically it is 2 down from the last lever (Lever 1) you put into place. So from the top notch, lever 4 needs to move 2 down. So it ends up in the 2nd notch when counting the notches from the bottom or 3rd notch from the top. For every following lever (lever order is 1, 4, 5, 3, 2) you move the next lever up or down from the previous levers position. Notches are counted from the bottom in our directions. Rest of solution: Lever 1, notch 4 (4 up) Lever 4, notch 2 (2 down) Lever 5, notch 3 (1 up) Lever 3, notch 1 (2 down) Lever 2, notch 3 (2 up) Thanks a lot to AppUnwrapper for being the only place that explained this online. Their walkthrus are great. Developers please leave this up. Knowing how this puzzle worked was really important to us and we think others should know how it works. That being said, the flag clue is obtuse enough on its own. Just change the puzzle man without this domino from the last lever effect. No one likes it. Either that or add something more to the flag clue to indicate what you want. Peace everyone.

Not very good getting around. Clues are not very helpful. Things show up later, versus picking up all items and utilizing them when needed.

Theres a setting to make the game brighter, but its still dark, which makes it difficult to see small items. A map would have been helpful since theres a lot of back and forth tasks. Hints were vague.

We got frustrated with the prologue after following the lead of another reviewer, playing on hard, and getting stuck on a puzzle because that had no reset option. So we gave up, but came back to the sequels after finishing all the Adventure Escapes, Rooms, and House of Davincis. And Im so glad we did! Heres our advice to other escape fans: 1. Play on normalbetter to have the option of hints and mostly not use them than to get stuck and have to restart the whole game 2. Take a picture of every puzzle before you start messing with it 3. Buy the sequels to this app. They are better than this prologue 4. Support developers like this who make quality apps and sell them at a reasonable price. No collection of user data is awesome! To the developers: please add reset buttons for puzzles so other players dont get stuck, give up, and miss out on your great work.

Bummer we didnt know you only could play chapter one for free. You get into the game then they want money, total bummer! Thankfully there are fun games like this for free out there. Not buying.

Did not like the way the navigation was setup. Seemed 20 years ago feel.
