ENYO is a Strategy/Puzzle/Entertainment game from Arnold Rauers, first launched in 31st August 2016.
It’s rated 9+ and currently has 412+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes ENYO Stand Out

ENYO is a tactical roguelike about hook & shield combat.

Grab your hook & shield and descent as Enyo, the greek goddess of war, into an ever changing labyrinth to recover 3 legendary artifacts.

ENYO's gameplay is based on the idea of indirect combat. Enemies can only be defeated by pushing or pulling them into burning lava pits or deadly spiked walls.

While staying accessible through the limited amount of actions a player can take, the core of ENYO are highly tactical turn based battles. To enter the highscore leaderboards for each of the 3 game modes you are tasked to master your weapons and create powerful chain combos through clever maneuvers.

This Strategy game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

Actually a really fun game, you have to buy the full thing but you dont need to spend money to have fun, the first part could easily be mistaken for the full thing with how good it is.

Didnt think itd end up this addicting. But it is! And we get so close but not quite! Thx to thx devs for a very clever game.

Fun interesting and unique game.

Gameplay is extremely simple and straightforward. Graphics are two dimensional and stylized cartoons. The soundtrack is short and on repeat. Theres a total of only ten levels in normal gameplay. Those might be reasons youd be tempted to pass this over as a tactical game. This is a brisk, brutal game where you likely will fail many times. It rewards, though. Its addictive. The music and the graphics fit the mood and the theme perfectly, no matter how seemingly simplistic. While simple, challenge escalates quickly, and there are modes beyond the normal mode to explore. And the gameplay hits that careful sweet spot where its just challenging enough to keep one playing at it over and over (and still fail most of the time) yet incredibly approachable and rewards being observant and experimenting. Really, our only lament is that this game is a huge battery drain when playing. It means our attempting to binge play it as we return to it has a governor on the binge length. And thats the real tragedy of the game. At some point, you have to take a break because your battery will force you to.

Most consise and fun tactics game to date.

This game is excellent and well designed. Its a great strategy game with complexity embedded in its simplicity. Its not difficult to learn but has many possibilities to its puzzles. Ive really enjoyed the theme and design as well. Adds are next to none/optional which is impressive as games like this take SO much to design and create requiring compensation. Brilliantly made.

Very creative, wish they would continue to improve. But very fun and mentally challenging.

When we first got this game we tried running straight through headfirst, but thinking about our moves more carefully like a game of chess rewards the player and the ability to leave and come back later with new ideas or approaches is great.

We were looking for a nice game and now we cant stop.

This has been our favorite game on our phone for many years! It could stay the same and continue to be our favorite but an update to the game would be fun.

Been playing for years and still our go to mobile game.

It's not as good as hoplight by Douglas Cowley, But it's pretty fun. It has similar mechanics,But it's not as well polished and a bit janky in some areas like changing equipment isn't responve and takes numerous taps. If you found this game remotely fun you would do yourself a disservice to not try hoplite, probably one of our top 3 favorites along with "FTL" and "out there".

No ads unless you want them, fun game. Wish it would tell you more about the enemies after you encountered them. Maybe it could give you an index and tell you what each one does after you beat them five times.

Solid strategy, took off a star because some of the mechanics are unclear at first and also because of all those times Im left with one of those grenadiers or turtles and they just keep running away.

Its a great game butt we lost our shield and couldnt kill the turtle guy.

We think this game is really fun and exercises your mind. If we had one thing we would say that should be improved the order of combat is a little confusing at times and a trait list for the monsters would be nice, a beastiary of sorts.

Simple & elegant, trial & error turn-based strategy. Deceptively challenging, been playing for a couple months and havent made it past level 7. Careful, losing your shield in lava before taking out the turtle causes a stalemate! Id give it 5/5, but the notch at the top of our iPhone 12 mini covers the current level and a bit of the score (same issue on Card Thief too). This may be an easy fix as there are substantial empty areas above & below the arena. Works perfectly, and looks amazing on iPad. Thanks for this game.

Tell the player the rules of the game. Playing chess while not knowing how the enemy can move their pieces is not fun.

Good game with replayabillity, 5/5.

Im uninstalled and reinstalled this game tons of times, simply because its one of the best roguelike games on the app store. Every time we die, we feel like we were the one that made a mistake, rather than rng screwing us over. It makes you feel clever when you kill multiple enemies without being a pushover.

Strategic, beautiful, addicting. Only mobile game we regularly play. -> that was a review we had evidently started typing out years ago when we were a teenager. Its still pretty true. Years later this is the only game on the App Store Ive never gotten tired of. We love the simple but challenging gameplay, we love the art. Its an old friend.

ENYO is a deceptively difficult game. Even on normal difficulty, we havent gotten past level 7 or 8. But the difficulty doesnt come from RNG: you always know what the enemies are capable of. It uses spacial reasoning in a very fun way: you have to position yourself just so to get the enemies into your attack range while keeping yourself protected. In terms of art, it is superb as well, evoking ancient Greek pottery while still keeping its own distinct style. It knows exactly what its going for and executes its idea perfectly.

This game has simple controls and graphics, but dont pass it by because its CRAZY FUN.

Simple to play. Challenging strategy. Always different layouts and positions. Point system adds more pressure to not make mistakes.

Very fun game, will be more challenging every level and doesnt becomes repetitive! We have not been able to pass stage 6.

If you take a look at our game downloading history on the App Store, youll see a never-ending catalog of games that Ive tried, of varying complexity and type. This game, however has stayed on our iphone through at least three different device changes. We just keep playing it. It reminds us of chess, with the different players having different abilities, and each move causing reactions and possible danger or advantage. It manages to be quite simple and quite complex at the same time. We hope this game continues to be around for years to come, and we would support and purchase a version of this game for our laptop if it means that we could keep playing it over many years. Thank you for making this wonderful game, and keeping it updated :).

We remember back when mobile games where fun and didnt have adds. The art style is pretty neat and unique, the theme is super interesting and different, and the gameplay is easy to pick up yet hard to master.

Great game. Its a real thinker.

Some of the features dont exactly become apparent immediately but once you learn them then the game becomes pure strategy and the mechanics are very fun to master.

Except the fact that the full version is 1.99.

Nice looking game with good strategy gameplay but still pretty relaxing.

It teaches you to wait and look twice before you make your move. Simple and sweet.

We love this game! Learning the differences between different enemies is fun. The art style is very cool we want a shirt with the ENYO entry scene. Very challenging! We havent made it through all the way on expert yet without making a mistake.

Ive been playing for years! Its great fun and every run is a mental challenge. We dont know really what else to say expect for play this game.

We had a horrible time Google Searching this game… But after multiple separate attempts we finally found it again. A true testament to how good this game is.

This is our favorite mobile game ever. Its challenging and engaging and years after starting we still play it nearly every day. Its incredibly difficult sometimes, but that also means its incredibly rewarding when you come to understand it. But even after you get really good at it, it never stops being a challenge. We love that there are no in-app purchases or ads. Just straightforward play.

We really like this game and others made by the creator, Im just not good and die by floor 5 every time.

Overall, we like the game. But, we lost our shield, and Im stuck with only the turtle, whom we cant hook into Lava. There seems to be no other way to defeat this enemy, which we have to to pass the level. Can someone help with a solution? Ive tried put him on bombed squares, to no avail.

Question for dev – if our shield is blown up/lost on a level, is there still any way to defeat the immovable turtle, since hookshot only pulls us toward him? Good game – thanks.

Newer versions are much improved. But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sometimes opening the daily challenge loads your saved Odyssey game, or opening the Expert levels loads your daily, etc. There's some kind of error present.

Its a worse version of Hoplite. If you want to play this game as it should be, with more complexity and fewer broken elements, download Hoplite and thank us later.

Challenging tactics game with fun abilities, environmental use, and enemies that work together well. Each combination of enemy types creates a different challenge. Targeting controls are imprecise and the UI doesn't show targeting clearly, so it's easy to accidentally move or attack unintentional locations. Perhaps a target confirmation tap will fix the problem.

We think this game is so excellent, but Im so aggravated by the glitch in scoring points. Youre meant to get a point for killing a monster when you have the gold skull bar full, but Im stuck on day 112 of Odyssee mode because every time it eventually stops giving us points when it should.

Probably our least favorite of the Tiny Touch games but still kind cool… Kudos to the "trial" method of paying, having one method of gameplay totally accessible so you can test out the game instead of blindly paying… NOTE: the XR screen has not been updated for, it cuts off the levels.

It is a great game we think but unfortunately it is not compatible with iPhone XR screen. Ill update our rating when you fix the issue.

It's not as good as hoplight by Douglas Cowley, But it's pretty fun. Great art style, and very fun, even when you lose. Its super satisfying when you get a combo, or hook a bomb into multiple enemies. Worth the free purchase, and also worth the paid option.

We really adore this game – the concept is unique and the gameplay is endlessly fun but there is one small bug that really gets to us. To be fair, we dont know if this is intentional or not but points seem to reset back to 1 whenever your action bar dips below 1 or 2 skulls and the overall score wont increase until your reset score exceeds your previous score. Other than that, the game occasionally crashes and sometimes enemies will stack on the same tile but those events happen fairly infrequently. That being said, we understand the creator runs a fairly small operation and we would rather he focus his bandwidth on games that generate higher revenue as we own and love all of his mobile games and look forward to seeing what he has planned in the future.

Really good concept plays well. Could use some updates on switching power when being attacked.

Its a very well made and thought out game. Definitely worth the download. However, be warned that turns can be unforgiving and seem unfair, but after some practice and good strategic planning you can get very far in this game. Its hard at first but thats what makes a good strategy game. Easy tactical games you see nowadays are mostly for toddlers who dont have the brain capacity to solve puzzles or minor problems. This is for sure one of our favorites as of late.
