The story:
You investigate a secluded military lab and find something horribly wrong! All of the scientists are missing and the facility is ransacked. Years of research and top secret classified experiments are no where to be found.
The missing scientists, known as the Omicron Initiative, are responsible for developing new technologies. The only clue to their disappearance is a mysterious text message reading "we were forced to do it". The team's disappearance threatens the secrecy of it's research, which could potentially put your country into a chaotic panic. Now there's only one person who can rescue the Omicron Initiative and protect its secret technology from falling into the wrong hands.
In 21 real time strategy missions you'll race across the world to find out who, or what, is responsible for the team's disappearance. You'll command and conquer over 130 different types of RTS units ranging from infantry and ships to giant modern mega units.
After honing your skills in the campaign, fire up a random map and experience insane real time strategy battles! Choose your nation and test your mettle in online multiplayer or conquer some AI opponents offline. Many adjustable options ensure every game is unique. Want to play with only ground units? Make the victory condition the death of a specific unit? The options are limitless!

Hello, my name is James, I'm an indie developer and programmed 100% of Machines at War 3 over the last two and a half years! It was quite the undertaking and I almost gave up several times, but through bad times and good, I'm excited this real time strategy game is done! Game kicks you out after you enter your email or clicking (x) you still can bypass it by turning off the WiFi, so Email screen wont show up and you will be able to play this masterpiece. So we recommend for the developer to remove/fix the email section since its buggy now on newer OS.
This game need a update we just bought it but cant play multiplayer.
We play this game on our iPad. It is the best strategy game, that we have found for the iPad. We usually play with the maximum number of AI opponents with the largest map. Best of all you dont pay a monthly fee or have to buy credits. You pay once and its yours forever.
Always loved this game. The units, research, and overall gameplay is really fun and worth getting. However the only thing that is missing is a proper sandbox mode. It would be awesome to have full control of where ai and players spawn, whats on the map already as far as units to make your own scenarios, and the ability to build/construct for free like a proper admin. Great game! Would highly recommend to any new players and as for devs please consider adding this last update.
Super fun game that doesn't require in-app purchases. Skirmish mode is awesome.
This game is great. Just re-downloaded it in 2024. We were a huge Command & Conquer fan when we were younger (on PC), and this takes us back. The campaign is challenging yet addictive. Some missions can last multiple hours. Just save your progress and come back later. Or, you can create your own custom skirmish. The soundtrack, which we didnt really pay attention to when we first downloaded the game, is amazing. Im always learning new ways to improve our play and experience each time we open the app. Hours and hours of fun. A++.
The only game we will never stop playing.There is a chess like quality to the tactics and strategies. You will find paralellels to historical campaigns in your battles if you look for them (island hopping, blockades, the primacy of air power (sometimes) etc. Standing ovation to the developers.

This game is reminiscent of old command and conquer games the only one Ive found on mobile like that and if youre looking for a base building rts download this game and you wont be disappointed this game is seriously underrated.

Ive played this game for years. We played unit 244 on pc we cant tell you how many years ago. We kinda wish there were more things to build new things to learn. But this game is a great way to kill time. Can be frustrating but we keep coming back.
Ive been playing RTS Games since we got into gaming and as far as mobile is concerned this is the best Ive ever played we love this game and have played it on and off for the last few years sadly though it hasnt been updated in 2 years hopefully it get ss update soon we dont want the game to be deleted off the App Store only issue we have is we could never get multi player to work but the bots are fine some games can last a long time and we really enjoy the strategic gameplay espically the walls and gates big fan of turtling.
Great game just like star craft but with naval units and mega units too. But why dont the nukes launch like they do in LASW? The popup to confirm launch just doesnt appear. Super annoying! But otherwise im happy with the game. Wish it would have even harder AIs. It seems after the game has progressed for a while the enemies become increasingly less combative to the point of passivity. Ill make an airforce of 300 units and win against all 3 opponents in mere minutes. Why dont they fight back? Why cant we have more than three opponents per match? Lets take this game to the next level. Make it near impossible to win to keep challenging us. Thanks.
Great game. We wish more people played, we can never seem to find an online opponent. So we've only played the AI thus far. Worth the purchase! We wish they would add more units to the game.
We have been searching for a true mobile RTS for a long time. For years the only games we could find either sold their souls for in-app purchases and stripped the critical pace and strategy out of the game or they were very unpolished and lacked critical features that make a truly good RTS. This game finally bridged that gap and we can honestly say we have never been so happy to pay money for a mobile game. Its has all the features that make a RTS fun and challenging. We would absolutely recommend it and we hope enough people discover it that it encourages the developer to pursue more RTS development. We would be happy to pay for expansion / sequel content and we think others would as well. Thanks Isotope! We will recommend it to as many people as we can.
We love games like Command and Conquer, StarCraft, and Age of Empires. This is the best rts mobile game we have played created in the spirit of those classics.
If you like Command & Conquer or any other base building RTS game than you will like this. You build your base and level it up and be on the defensive or on offense and fight pvp or go against several computer armies at ones. Ones you have the game there are no money involved. Just play and thats why its so great. Ive had this game for years and it never gets old. We miss these types of RTS games.
This is by far the best mobile RTS game we have ever played. A wholesome campaign along with very customizable skirmish modes. We have hundreds of hours on this game as no battle is exactly alike. Once you purchase this, there are no other purchases and no ads. The longest round we have played took 16 hours. This makes it perfect for long trips. We play on an iPhone 6 and there is no lag. Each side can have up to 1000 units, which makes for epic gameplay. However, there are some annoying bugs with the AI. They can build buildings which cannot be built by the player which allow them to make units restricted by modifiers. (In infantry only, they can spawn air units and other vehicles). The AI can also build anywhere on the map, which is not supposed to happen. Other than that, a very fun and addicting game.
No ads, no pay to win or purchasable content. Just a great strategy game.
We have been playing this game since it was originally developed. We still play this regularly, and keep hoping that the developer will surprise us as he has done in the past with new developments. Please keep up the great work, and thank you for not letting this app die.
After the lasts update, when you Start a match the game closes,plz fix this . Iphone r, Edit: we unistall the game and installed again and it worked! (Sorry about our english im from brazil).
Ive had this on every device Ive owned for a while now. Obviously its great on iPad but its still playable on any iPhone with the larger screens. It has ran fine on everything, like from the original 7 up to the X. So its very reminiscent of an early Command and Conquer, maybe like Red Alert 2 or Tiberium Wars. There are a few things Id say should be different, but the developers arent getting the attention they deserve yet, and for what they can do right now its fantastic. If anything, Id suggest they stop focusing on the other games they have on their website and just focus on this one. We really hope to see more updates and additional units! Good job devs.

This game is by far the best RTS we ever been playing, and we have been playing since 2016 and Im happy to see the developer is still updating the game awesome, you just have to give it a try, and we do really wish there are more factions, after all your just challenging players with same set of factions that you already have, but still awesome game.
We like this game a lot. Not needing an Internet connection is great. Being able to control the speed of the game is pretty neat. On iPad this game is more fun since the screen is bigger for playing. Our issues with the iPhone version is that you cannot (from what we have seen) choose specific unit groups of units(land, air, sea,subs) like you can on iPad. Friendly fire is almost non existent except for 2 things, which is annoying (the Magna Lase and Proteus) If this could be fixed, it would be better.
Its a very good game but has some bugs and issues and hasnt had an update in years. But definitely worth the money.
Only improvement would be to offer even more difficult levels.
This game needs a zoom feature like for real and now.
Good Command and conquer / StarCraft type strategy game. Biggest drawback unlimited money/no farming money. Hope they change this later.

We love the idea of paying for a game and NOT having to keep paying to play. As for the game itself, there are so many levels and variations it stays fresh. And you have to love unleashing a Mega machine on your enemies.
Update: 5/7/2019 No updates have been made to gameplay since our original review over a year ago. The game is now experiencing additional glitches and Im not sure why. Maybe this has to do with new iOS version? Our shield units will not automatically attack incoming units, more submarines are moving onto land, and AI is no longer a challenge in skirmish mode. AI builds walls for no reason during gameplay, then moves back and forth for the rest of the game. Units are also not obeying when ordered to attack buildings/units. Berthas need to stop attacking shields; theyre currently obsessed at it. As others have stated, the increase in bugs make this game pretty frustrating. Not sure if the author will ever update it or release a new version. We've played this game for the past 6 months while living on the road. Needless to say, we've had a lot of experience with it. If you're a fan of the classic C&C and want to have a similar gaming experience for your apple device, stop wasting your time reading through these reviews and press the buy button; you won't be disappointed. We'd love to see some updates with more soldier/vehicle variables and increased difficulty levels in skirmish games. Since purchasing this app some time ago, we don't believe there has been a single update. There are a few bugs we've experienced with submarines getting stuck in the bottom corner of the map (going on land), but nothing too serious that takes away from the awesome gameplay. All in all, 5+ stars.
Kind of disappointed for 7$ they got rid of unlimited build queue and its super hard to quickly select units would definitely recommend getting the 1st version of the game.
Other version is better because of the buildings can stay busy keep building button. Every plane or tank has to be tapped to be build and manually add to groups. All this should be automatic. Only 2-4 places to get ore . Playing 4 teams.
We beat the highest level AI on our first try. Campaign is lackluster. No one plays multiplayer. Game itself is basically the same as its predecessor.
Glitchy at set up. Desperately needs update.
The controls are more herky/jerky. Some controls, like to launch the ICBMs dont even work. Im sorry we actually paid for the upgrade thats clearly still in beta. Also though there is a feature to expand the population limit it does not work. Now the game has slowed down the ore collection to the point that it is unplayable.
How are you supposed to complete the mission Time Crunch the time goes by too fast.

Im an occasional player, def not a die hard. But we were a die hard Starcraft player and this def fits the bill. We had no complaints. Fun time killer.

Needs some updating but this is the best RTS on the App Store. Old school play against AI. You can tweak a lot of settings to change the game feel and outcome. Played 100s of different scenarios. Developer please update and allow players to select the location to start in skirmish mode.
We used to play the previous game for 3 yrs. Now we found this game and we can play it with our friends. We really hope this game could support the new iPad.
We dont write a lot of review unless the game is amazing. We have to work tomorrow but just download this game three days ago and have to say wow. Ten stars if we could its fun and we didnt realize the time flew by like that.we spent four hours playing this and was only planing to play for 30mins good game and good concept. Graphic is good for an mobile game. Keep it up want to see a number four. Should cost some money.
This is a fun game! We hope you will add more mission, skirmish, game mode, and even more map. Looking forward for more mods. If only you add heavy unit like battleship, space ship and even add more unique resources. Theres is another thing that keeps bothers us. It hard for us to get more research points and for some reason, the AI dont even try to build unique ours spec on the resources unless they feel like it. And they also dont build mega unit when they have a certain resources to build it. To said it, the AI are not that smart no matter how hard a can to make the AI more challenger smart. So we hope you can fix this and add more awesome units! Good game. Thx.
Worth every cent! AI skirmishes are a blast and campaign is fun– dozens of hours on this fantastic game and looking forward to dozens more.
We enjoy this game and play it from time to time for years now. Would love multiplayer but love it regardless.
